I want me some new irons.

Ping i25 are top of the list, they look lovely. Need to hit one though.

I don't really know what to say to that hehe

I think you need to slow it down and have a lesson!

Well in theory if he's hitting the ball with a 22 degree closed face with a 115mph swing speed I'm guessing he hits a massive fade/slice smile

I'm seriously considering purchasing a new set of irons along with 4 of the Scor wedges.

I'm having a fitting session on Friday evening (hitting all TM clubs, Titleist AP1/AP2, Ping i25 and a Yonex offering).

At the moment I'm thinking of buying 4,5,6,7,8,9 in which ever iron I choose and then complimenting this with the relevant Scor wedges (probably something like 46, 50, 54, 58 depending on the iron lofts).

Does anyone have any experience of the Scor system?

I spoke to Barry at Scor last night and he was a really nice guy and he's coming back to me today with the best price he can do for me including delivery from the States.

I was interested in these until someone I work with mentioned he tried them and they have zero bounce. The clever sole doesn't work well at all in our wet, soft conditions in the UK apparently frown
Hmmm.... that's not what I have read. I have read that they have between 3 and 7 degrees of bounce.

Suits me fine - my links course is very firm! And even in the wet the fairways are tight.

I will do some more research!

In fairness there are some glowing reviews from this country, including Rick Shiels who has a review from October on YouTube:

Righty-oh.

After an hour and a bit hitting several irons, I have come away with the Ping i25 and the Taylormade Tour Preferred CB to try and choose between.

I think the Ping has the edge, but I need to spend the next week or so hitting them both to decide!

Have you got them on loan?
Yeah, my club pro just gave them to me to use for a week or so.

They are both roughly my spec - 1/2" long, stiff, 1 degree upright.

Once I've decided which I prefer I'll have another fitting session.

Didn't like the TM SLDR, TM TP MB or the Titleist AP2's.

Shot 93 yesterday, which isn't bad considering I was puking up the wine from the night before an hour before teeing off!!!

Short game was excellent - my chipping was good and bunker player excellent (4 bunker shots, 4 up and downs).

Just let myself down off the tee really.

Nice game though - even with a banging headache and dodgy hang-over guts hehe

Oh and a well done to Justin Rose - really showing some great form at the moment.

Let's see if can do a hat-trick and win the Open this week.

One of my favourite players (along with Luuuuke).

I'd say try the Pro V1X - not as soft so shouldn't grip as much?

Help. I'm improving slowly. My swing is getting better but I'm topping slicing the ball when on the practice mats or ground. Off the tea with irons it's ok. Ideas
Keep your head down, don't sway, swing from inside to out and make sure your feet are pointing in the same direction as the club face (preferably at your target!!)

Inside to out?
You are probably hitting on an outside to in swingpath, with an open club face. SLICE.

You need to try and hit on an inside to out swingpath, and hopefully hit a nice draw.

Pretty average this morning, shot 90 and scored 32 points.

Putting was terrible, really need to sort that out! Pushing some putts 6' past. Poor.

Right, I've decided on the Ping i25's.

Just couldn't hit as many nice shots with the TM TP CB's (what a mouthful!).

Having my final fitting session tonight. Once that's done I'll order 3 of the Scor wedges (have decided to stick with the i25 PW and get GW, SW, LW in the Scor clubs).
