That sounds too much hassle tbh.
Golflogix looks a much better prospect.
It's not a faff at all.Golflogix looks a much better prospect.
All you do is hit your ball, then press the track button.
When you reach your ball you press I'm at my ball and tell it what club you hit.
If I'm honest I never use that function! Not seen Golflogix, will have a gander.

Right chaps, bit of a noob question here. I started golfing about 6 months ago and I'm currently using a golf bag with a stand. I'm finding on a full 18 that it isn't good for my back to be carrying the weight so I want to get a trolley asap. I'm on a tight budget but I do believe in buying once rather than buying cheap.
I assume a 3 wheeled trolley is best as it can be pushed rather than needing to be 'balanced' while walking. Will I also need to purchase a new golf bag to fit a trolley? I plan to pick something up 2nd hand from gumtree, ebay etc so please no tempting motocaddy suggestions.
For bags and trolleys I will always recommend Sun Mountain gear - it really is great equipment.I assume a 3 wheeled trolley is best as it can be pushed rather than needing to be 'balanced' while walking. I'm not sure where you are but I have the newer version of this and it is superb:

Any bag will fit as the 'fins' that hold the bag in are completely adjustable.

Does anyone else here just go and play, no phone, no measuring instruments, no 'fly by' images, micro distances or suggested club apps, just you, your clubs, the ball and beautiful surroundings?
No! But then my course doesn't have any yardage markers so it's much more difficult without a GPS or laser.I only use my phone as a GPS, I don't text or email while playing. And I did use my Garmin watch until it was stolen.

Even better Rosscow, golf in its purest form.I play an ambrose on Sundays and one of our four has a hilarious amount of electronic equipment, two gps thingies (in case one's wrong), a tapety tap thing on his belt that shows him where his ball is or something and pingy noise thing that denotes a good shot, I think he's got a portable stimp metre tucked away too but that's conjecture - he dresses like Rickie Fowler, his shoes are cleaner than my dinner plates, he takes 2 days to address his ball and plays off of a manufactured vanity handicap of 9.8 but most often hits 90's. Aside from his play he never notices the course, the trees, the weather, the scenery or just how pleasant this game can be.
I'm not suggesting that everyone with electronic equipment is like that but I do think it can encumber rather than aid, even if it's just the enjoyment
Flame suit on.
I like the idea of not needing a rangefinder, but in reality it'll just cost me shots.

I find that a GPS is of most use when playing courses on holiday abroad. Try as I might I could never get on with using markers measured in metres. It's much easier to look it up in yards than do the conversion in my head. And for some strange reason a distance of 165 yards makes me more comfortable about what to use than 150 metres does.
Convert metres to yards:Add the first two digits (of a 3 digit number) to the original number:
150m ....... 15+150........165 yards.
0r
80m......... 8+80..........88 yards.

Did not go well this morning. On my own, 8 holes in an hour and a smidge playing 2 balls.
Sideways rain. 3 degrees. 150 yard visibility.
Walked in. Stupid game.
Where was that?! Positively spring like here in Sussex!Sideways rain. 3 degrees. 150 yard visibility.
Walked in. Stupid game.

Hey Guys,
Some sad news for me, I don't think I'll be Playing much golf this year as my ankles are just not up to it
Maybe a couple of rounds in a buggy (not the same) for fun.
Anyway, I played last week and tried out Golfshot. I really like it and would recommend it to people to try
First 9 was using my mates putter (left mine in the car!) and was rusty having not played since early November!
Glad you like Golfshot - I've been using it for years and think it's excellent value for money. Some sad news for me, I don't think I'll be Playing much golf this year as my ankles are just not up to it

Sorry to hear about your ankles
Your putting definitely improved when you got back to your own putter! Which course was this?
Do you actually use a 1 iron?
