After two fairly terrible rounds Tuesday and Wednesday (6's and 7's all the way) I played 12 holes today and came off with 5 pars, 6 bogeys and one blob (went in the water twice). And all I did was slow my swing down.
Given me some belief that I really can get good at this game.
Careful, the game will probably jump up and bite you now! Given me some belief that I really can get good at this game.
The thoughts of one of the greatest ever golfers:
No-one will ever have golf under his thumb. No round ever will be so good it could not have been better. Perhaps this is why golf is the greatest of games. You are not playing a human adversary; you are playing a game. You are playing old man par.

Delusional belief, contrary to ALL evidence, that one day it'll all come right and you'll win the Masters is central to anyone of us being able to persist at this infernal pursuit.
Stupid game.
(looking forward immensely to my knock tomorrow)

But I think that keeping the dream alive is the best way to keep motivated when it all goes to rack and ruin.
I shall persevere!

Oh, don't worry. I have every confidence that it will all fall apart again in the not too distant future.

I like the last one from an unknown golfer
A "gimme" can best be defined as an agreement between two golfers, neither of whom can putt very well.

Another one that's always helped cheer me up on the course, no matter how bad it's going is that "A bad day on the golf course is still better than a good day in the office".
No idea if it's attributable to anyone, certainly works for me however. And of course no matter how bad a day you're having, I'm guessing the chap in the link below was having a worse one....

Anybody played Woburn? Thinking of treating myself to a round there (alone), just wondered if a 26 handicapper would be okay or if it'd be torture?
Completely and utterly stunning, my favourite golf club in the country and you will not regret playing there! The whole experience is a step up from most places.
If you're wayward off the tee, try and play the Marquess rather than the Dukes/Duchess as it is more forgiving in terms of fairway width.

Fowler for me he has some level of control with his short irons and the way Chambers bay is shaping up they will all need that with the browns looking hard.
Been out of the country for the last week or so but played Friday before last and had a meh round. My driving was on top form the rest of my game stank.

Morning, golf nerds!
Hapless - I presume you have laid your mitts upon the G25? Given it a hit yet?
Coincidentally, I emailed you about 2 minutes before I checked this thread. Hapless - I presume you have laid your mitts upon the G25? Given it a hit yet?
I took it to the range last night. It's a beast. Very, very happy.
Since playing golf more seriously in the last 12 months I've been using a mixture of Titleist lake balls of varying quality (mostly NXT Tour with some DT Solo). Usually bought in bulk, some were fine but some were pretty badly nicked and grazed.
I wanted to step up to something softer like the Pro V1 or Pro V1x for more control around the green and am also a bit sick of using second hand balls with all the pen marks etc. Having said that I didn't fancy paying full price for top of the range balls as I still have the potential to lose 2 or 3 a round.
Looking at the price of top grade Pro V1 lake balls I came across a new brand called Vice Golf whose aim is to challenge the bigger manufacturers on quality and style whilst beating them on price.
https://www.vicegolf.com/en/
I did a bit of research on them but there isn't a lot out there, in the end the marketing won me over and on Friday morning, ordered 5 dozen of the Pro V1x competitor, the Vice Pro+.
They arrived today fresh from Germany and they look great and certainly feel soft when juggling them on my lob wedge.
I'm playing 9 holes after work tomorrow so I'll let you all know how I get on with them.
Apologies if that sounds like an advert, I assure you it isn't.
