Just seen this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footb

I suppose there are two schools of thought on this one, get him back in the chair ASAP and build him up for the difficult matches to come, or allow him to rest.

Personally i'd like to see him on the bench for this match and use him as a possibility against the Swedes.

What are your thoughts?

I think that as this should be the lightest match of the whole tourne its a good idea. give him some match practice rest him further v Sweden and then bring him on as a sub against the good stuff.

Not sure, I reckon he should be kept til the last 20 mins or so and then given a run... Having said that in the game between T&T and Sweden some of the tackles that went in were fairly robust so it should test the foot.

I really hope he does get back on it quick, we are looking a bit weak up front at the moment!

Why risk him?

Play with Crouch and Owen (Owen needs the fitness after all) and with Crouch being on a booking should he get booked then he's out of the Sweden game.

Say Rooney plays and gets injured?

Much better to save him until at least the Sweden game and even then losing the game might be an option if they have already beaten T&T and they fancy the route through beating the Winners of Group A / Runners-up in Group A.

I would only consider using Rooney as a sub and only if England are behind to T&T.

I would also give Walcott a game against T&T if his calf strain is better.
