After all this time it will be quite weird getting Fury actually in the mix. I wonder if whatever the result he will take the rematch? I think he will show for this one as his career is basically over if he doesn't.

When sorry if he looses I think it will be extremely hard for him to take and would predict a pretty long holiday and very much doubt he would go for another boxing lesson. If he won I think it would take everything he has and would probably want to put off a second go for as long as possible in fact he would probably retire.

I just can't see how he can beat Usyk but it's certainly the fight of the decade to look forward to. Fury will be trying to dig in every low blow and body shot he can get past the ref thats the only hope I see him having.
I'm interested to see the names of the judges and referee but not seen anything announced yet which seems a little strange this late in the day. Maybe they haven't bothered to book their flights. wink

They have announced the ref. It's the dude who did Pacquiao Vs Horn and let Horn get away with low blow after low blow.

Let's hope they don't get the judges from that fight as well.

Hard to see fury stopping usyk.
Unless by foul.

He doesn't hit hard enough and hard to imagine usyk walking onto anything.

And i can't see him outworking him.

Fury has won 5 of his last 7 fights by KO / TKO. But fair enough if you don't think he hits hard!

Usyk is vulnerable to body shots. Fury to win by liver shot.

By that measure fury is Chinny as he is on his backside a lot.

Those guys weren't 6 inches shorter than Fury and have heavier hands than Usyk.

I think Fury wins this every time and Lennox feels the same way so i'm in good company smile

Weren't they?

Cunningham is the same height/a touch shorter than Usyk. He had 13 KOs in 40 fights (most of which were at CW) and hadn't dropped anybody in his 5 fights prior to Fury.

Pajkic was also the same height as Usyk, and had 5 KOs in his 18 professional fights and no KDs in his 6 fights before Fury.

That's 50% of the fighters who've put Fury on his arse. Small heavyweights that don't have remotely notable power.

If we're going back over a decade and through every Fury fight then i'll have to go with your knowledge.

Either way, my money has gone on Fury and also have a smaller bet on Fury to win by KO / TKO or DQ.

Just need to see whether the two guys show up on the weekend.

Nothing significant, just some pocket money.

I actually dislike sports betting but every now and then I feel some value opportunities present themselves.

Can't see the point of a small bet at evens or thereabouts.

Given the politics and money involved I'd say the value bet is the draw at 16/1.

You know what..... I can see this exact scenario.... I'll be sitting there after (hopefully) a decent fight thinking usyk a comfortable winner here ..then the announcer shouting "a draw!!!!" And me wanting to pull my own eyes out

I'm not getting involved in who, why or how this is won, I've set out my stall many times but I think a GENUINE draw could be the result. These guys will be very hard to split. It could be a hard watch, messy, with lots of 'action' only the educated eye will see. 16-1 you say?

A split decision draw probably...! Always thought that the refereeing of this fight will be a factor-Will he allow Fury to hold and lean and where is the line for body shots.

I'm seeing a lot of people saying things on the socials etc like they hope usyk schools fury for the sake of the sport, and that fury is a fraud and so on.

OK you may not like the man, but he's not just appeared where he has through no input or effort... I get the frustration of the constant retirement threats and swerving fights but I don't think someone getting "found out" would do anything for the sport at all.

What I am looking for this Saturday is confirmation that he is as good as he says he is. Even if he loses, he needs to show up and put a shift in. If he does that win or lose I will respect him.

Steve Cunningham gave an interview some time ago when this fight was first being mooted, and i think he was saying something similar too.

Well to be fair, Fury doesn't fight that often, has avoided small, quick fighters since Cunningham (which he has openly admitted was his hardest fight and a style he struggles with) and since he's been back, anybody good enough to land clean shots on him has either dropped him or split his face wide open.
