Thought I'd share my first attempt at moviemaking with you all.
I had just bought a DV-cam and bulletcam and was playing around with that and the Esprit on a very nice autumn day. After lots of messing about with the editing software this is the result www.teknikinfo.com/lotus/
Because the video is 8 minutes long there's a small (67 MB) and a large (225 MB) version. It's mostly in-car and "on-car" footage and you'll need the latest Quicktime Player (6.4 available free at www.apple.com/quicktime/download) to view it.
There's also a sound file of my V8 with straight pipe exhaust.
Have a look and listen if you like - hope you enjoy it!
Cheers,
Magnus

Thanks for the response guys.
With the silencer removed it's almost like another car compared to the rather tame standard exhaust it had when I bought it.
Needless to say, going through tunnels are now very fun indeed
Jim - most of it was shot with one of RF concepts bulletcams mounted on the spoiler (or whatever it's called) between the exhaust pipes. The big plus point is that you can keep your expensive DV cam out of harms way in the boot or inside the car.
Because the bulletcam is so light a little piece of double sided tape is enough to hold - just stick it on and off you go!
Edited to add a pic of the bulletcam....
Cheers,
Magnus

Magnus,
You say this is your first attempt at moviemaking? From someone with a film degree, accept my humble accolades. This was VERY well done, and quite enjoyable to watch. I downloaded the full version and will probably burn it to CD.
Ever think about a future in car commercials?

Working on it! Trouble is both my "normal" cars need exhausts - Mrs Mark is hard to convince if it doesn't have a hole. Now where's that screwdriver....................

One i've used in the past is "..its on its last legs, but if i replace it before it breaks then i'll be able to keep it as a spare".

Magnus, cool sounds of the exhaust, what a beast! Sorry was only able to download the small sound file. But have saved your website to view it some other time
Can I ask you what kind of video equipment you used apart from the pics you posted, plus roughly if it was expensive to buy. Sounds perfect for what am trying to do as well. Really love the arty pics in your site.

Nice job! For those of you in the US, here is a good site for video stuff. www.supercircuits.com I have purchased several of their wireless/covert items and never had any problems.

16 mins to download the small movie (I love broadband
) and 45 mins to fail to view it
I've got Realplayer One to download and install the latest version of everything selectable and when I play the moview I still get a message saying Realplayer needs to download some software. I click OK and it hits the web then tells me "There is no software update available from RealOne to support this content."
Anybody got any clues ?

Thank you for the comments - I really appreciate it!
Tim/Duncan sorry to hear about your problems, but I really think that you'll be ok if you just download and install the latest Quicktime Player. Go to www.apple.com/quicktime/download - the free player is on the left side of the page.
Kylie - my equipment isn't particularly fancy. I have a Sony TRV33 mini-dv camcorder and a bulletcam kit from RF Concepts. The editing was done in Apple Final Cut Pro on an iMac. Any camcorder with an AV in connection would work though as would the iMovie editing software that comes free with Mac computers (or any PC equivalent).
If you're interested in a bulletcam have a look at www.rfconcepts.co.uk/helmet_cameras.htm - I have the "Package 3". It includes all the necessary cables, a microphone and a basic mount, all you need to get going. The bulletcam kit costs £145 and my DV-cam roughly £600 (wild guess....)
I'm a complete novice and while making videos takes a lot more effort than still photography it's great fun......so I think you should go for it!

Magnus, I love that video! It was great fun watching it. Thanks for making it available for download.
[I liked your sideways look into the camera mid-way through the video--cute.]
I agree with the other poster: I wanted more forward views through the windscreen.
A very nice job, IMHO.
And what great, scenic roads you have to drive on!
