car on Dodge Magnum commercial?

has anyone seen this commercial? it looks like the Magnum is racing with a silver Esprit. Looks like an Esprit from the front, but the side scoops and rear are different. anyone know what car that is?

Yeah, I noticed that too. Some angles look alot like an Esprit and others not. It is possible it is an Esprit that they modded so as not to be recognizable as any particular car.

I thought it was an Esprit too... Can't believe I made that mistake! I wouldn't mind it so much if it weren't for the lambo rear.

Yep... kit car. I did not catch it until I had seen it a couple times. However, the pull out add in Car and Driver is a 'real' Esprit... well, the back end of one anyway. Don't know why they used a kit car. I sure any one of us would have donated some time....(for free)! Hahahaha.....
