A bit later than promised, sorry!

Had a fantastic day at Goodwood today, the atmosphere was really something else. Sadly the weather remained overcast until...I left to go home. Typical.

Hope you enjoy the photos!

And a Self-Portrait to finish off for today.

I'll be back again on Sunday, hopefully with some more photogenic weather!

An 80 year old Stirling Moss leading 80 cars round the circuit.

The cavalcade was made up of examples of cars he competed in during his career. Quite a lot of them were the actual cars he raced.

What's the story behind this then?!! That's not actually Rowan Atkinson is it? Looks awfully like him!

Sure is. Sat on the pit wall with him the other week during the revival practice.

Had a good look over that car as well.
The impression is that he is steering it with the rope tied to the steering wheel.
Reality is there is a small bucket seat almost where the rear seat should be with a driver almost horizontal under all the rubbish inside the car. The steering wheel he is using is about 12" diameter and 12" off the floor.

Hmmm - every year the Revival does seem toi deviate more and more from its original brief of recreating the atmosphere of Goodwood racing in the 1950s and early 1960s.

Grid girls before? Err yes..

Murray Walker before ? Err yes...

Girls wearing stockings before? Err yes...

Memorial flight before ? Err yes...

I would say it's better every year, building on the same core ingredients. And I've been going every year since the first.
