Hi,

I have just joined PH today and this is my first post!

I live very close to Goodwood and have been to FOS most years since it has been going, also the Revival but not as often.

If anyone has any questions about places to stay, eat, drink etc. Being a local I am happy to advise where I can. This event brings a lot of business to our area so it is good in my opinion if the locals help the visitors get the best visit they can!

Cheers

Steve

Never been in but I believe it is. Will probably be busier as it's easier to find.

The Horse and Groom, East Ashling is a brilliant pub. Beer is excellent, £2.30 for a pint of mild! Damn fine food selection too

Great pub, shame that the people who go to it drive far too fast and park so insensitively.

I would have to say that the Horse and Groom is probably the best bet, also very good prices!

Wasn't an accusation, just something I hate whilst staying with family in Charlton.

Whilst I'm not a local, for those staying in central chichester I highly recommend the Nags Head

Nags Head

Eat there many times and found the food and service great, plus there's a very comfy sofa area for chilling after the meal

I would imagine that if you were prepared to drive out of the town, some of the others suggested above may be better, but interested to hear the local's opinions on this?

This year I'm staying literally dead opposite the Earl of March, so it'll be taxi time for me if I want to sample the others

On that note: what are the taxi prices like from East Lavant to Chichester?

There is also the Royal Oak in Lavant which is about a 3 minute walk from the Earl of March.

If you are looking for a "real" pub in Chichester then the Fountain in south street is your best bet.
