Plenty of FOS refugees out and about. Went up to Arundel, castle is pricey but the last few rooms are excellent, Canalettos and all.
A work of art also spotted on the high street, to satisfy some petrolhead urges.

My first time at FOS, I arrived Wednesday with my caravan, leaving Sunday or Monday depending on traffic. I’m staying in one of the events camping fields which I’m impressed with.

Thursday was ok, spent a full day walking round, Thankfully I have grandstand tickets for the 4 days as they are needed with the rain. Didn’t seem to be many car manufacturers stands with cars to look at and sit inside as I had been told there normally Is.

Went in again early afternoon on Friday after the rain had stopped but didn’t see anything I hadn’t seen on Thursday.

To be honest I’m glad today was cancelled as I felt I saw it all on day 1 and got fed up with walking through the crowds. The cars going along the track were initially good to see, but after you’ve seen a few it quickly gets boring. Would happily have gone home after Thursday but I’m here with others so can’t.

Saw a few celebrities walking around including Jenson Button, Kryton from Red Dwarf, James Martin the chef and Matt from High Peak Autos (he’s tiny).

Glad I came as I like to experience big live events but 4 days here is far too long for me and doubt I’ll come again. It glad I didn’t go to RIAT(RAF Fairford) as I had considered as that doesn’t sound fun this year with the weather.

Mmm, one day and you saw everything.
Fair enough but unlikely you enjoyed yourself if you managed to see everything in one day

Car parks seem to be absolutely fine today. Usual pinch point with the pedestrian bridge next to the supercar paddock already, madness having it set up like that but there you go.

No rally timetable online (at least that I can find) and nothing posted at the stage entrance, so will just have to chance it at some point.

Quite breezy, too!

Why TF has another car been released with a Leyton House binned in the middle of the road ?

Really enjoying the livestream. Really enjoyable from a distance much like Glasto.

Every year, I tell myself I must buy tickets and actually attend. Maybe next year, my son would be keen to go now so maybe that will tip the balance.

Pleasantly surprised we haven't seen any JSO nonsense. Think they know there wouldn't be much tolderance for them!

Because they’re released at a time interval (or it might be after they pass the bridge). It’s possible to have 2-3 cars on the hill at the same time.

Fair enough but surely if booking you know what you are going to.
Working and having no interest is slightly different.

Is that it for the shootout? Didn't seem like very many cars this year.

Still running but now the slower cars. Think it’s out of sync as Saturday is normally qualifying.

I think I heard on the tannoy that Max Chilton ran a 39.8 in his demo run this morning? I think it was an error mentioning it as even McMurtry themselves are just saying 'it was a demo run' when asked.

Kinda puts most of the timed shootout into perspective. Saying that, Travis' run was worth the price of admission alone.

I went along on Friday and fair enjoyed the show despite the weather.
Remember looking over Freddie Spencers NS500 triple thinking what an amazing machine.
Whilst looking close up at the detail - got a tap on the shoulder only to turn around and there is Freddie himself. Something I'll never forget.
The Honda RC166 when started was the loudest thing I have ever heard!
Met Brad Binder, Randi Mamola and shared a joke with Pol Esparagro.
All of these superstars took the time to stop, talk and take a picture.
Met Mick Doohan and stood whilst the HRC technician's warmed up his NSR500 before he climbed aboard. Even the watching Ducati technicians stood and applauded afterwards.
As for the electric cars - I can appreciate their performance but it's kind of soul less - watching and listening to the crowd when the fire breathing 1911 28 litre Fiat went up the hill compared to the electric cars zipping past in silence.
I just didn't feel anything towards then.
Fire and noise for me is what attracts me to an event like this.
Cheers
Spoke to Freddie, Mat Oxley, Casey Stoner, Mika Kallio yesterday......
Casey was happy to see my 27 cap, and signed it for me....

I love the whole thing about FOS. I know people like to piss and moan, but walking round is like wall to wall chilled out superstar riders/drivers that you cant normally get anywhere near close to.

^ This AND THIS.

Travis.

If you get chance and, when it appears on YouTube, have a watch.

It really was a joy to behold. He really was giving it the absolute beans!

I'm amazed some of these cars have been driven so hard, given how rare/valuable they are.

Olaf Manthey also took the door mirror off the GT2 RS Clubsport.

I've just watched the M1 crash on Youtube , driver not familiar ?
Missed a slight kink to the right , wheel on grass and not a hope of slowing in time for the corner .

Can't find the 911 GT1 crashing .
That car is unique if it's the 98 , they only ever made the 1 I believe .

Didn't crash, brushed the hay and lost the rear spoiler.
