We're staying in Halnaker on the Friday night at the Anglesey Arms. Are there any other boozers in walking distance or might we be better off with a taxi into Chichester for the football and a few beers? Thanks.
p.s. now England's tornament is mapped out, "if" (!!!!) they make it to the quarter finals it will be at 1500 on Saturday 3rd.....dare i ask if anyone knows if there'll be anywhere to watch it at FOS????? We're there for two days so can afford 90 minutes from the motors!!!

Hi,
I have just joined PH today and this is my first post!
I live very close to Goodwood and have been to FOS most years since it has been going, also the Revival but not as often.
If anyone has any questions about places to stay, eat, drink etc. Being a local I am happy to advise where I can. This event brings a lot of business to our area so it is good in my opinion if the locals help the visitors get the best visit they can!
Cheers
Steve

I've read somewhere previously that the Landlord had his "little rules"!!!!
No where else round there then??
Not if you want footie on TV - localish country pubs (ie no TV) include the Wilkes Head at Eastergate, the Spur at Slindon, bit further out the George & Dragon at Houghton and the Fox Runs Free at Singleton, but really they're all a car drive away.No where else round there then??
The Gribble in Oving is a good pub, but just a touch too far to stroll in mean stagger from.
Within walking distance of Goodwood itself I think the nearest boozer is probably the Anglsey Arms, then the Royal Oak in Lavant, followed by the Earl of March.
I had an idea to hire field out and organise some camping, a live band and a few barrels of real ale but think it might be too much effort for little reward?

Thats a very good idea but maybe too late and a bit of a ball ache. fair enough if you had your own field and were friends with a mate in a band, friend worked at a brewey etc then could be done for not much money and effort. otherwise you have to start drawing in x amount of people to cover the costs and then your holding an 'event' and theres probably allsorts of rules and laws to consider...
best off meeting up with people on here for a few beers

Perhaps next year I should approach one of the good pubs and see what can be done for PistonHeads?
Anyway, it is all pie in the sky stuff and I still need to finish wading through the Secret Nazi bunker thread on here, I am up to page 198 after about 4 hours reading! jeez!
