Hi everyone,

Looks like a lot of you are worried about dress code! Don't worry, we won't be policing this or anything, but we do try to maintain a certain level of sartorial sophistication at these events... Maybe leave bloodstained vests at home?

Agree with previous comments that the weather looks reasonably good but (particularly on the Saturday if you are staying for the party) you will want some warm clothes, so think about bringing some extra layers.

A little tip for any F1 fans: we've recently had confirmation about this https://grrc.goodwood.com/members-meeting-73/pitst...

Brilliant, thanks.

I was about to post a question on this very topic - you must be psychic!

Shaun - I am. That's why someone bought me the tie, but I generally don't wear ties that much. It's also frankly tttish saying "I'm a rocket scientist" , so I don't normally.

Tatton - weather is lovely and sunny down here today.
Hehe, that explains everything, everything!! All I can think of now is Dexter off the Fast show! smile

I work with Nuclear Scientists and the ex Technical Director of CERN and whilst they each have an IQ of about 200 odd, I would doubt they would actually be able to tie a tie smile

Please tell me more - I am intrigued!!

Having had a look through the various threads, I might have a small issue.

My very generous friend has supplied my little blue metal badge but I haven't got a car park badge.

Problem? Will Wheaton?

So will I need to grab a bus or are the passes for inside the circuit/special car parks and there is 'normal' parking elsewhere?

There are no car park badges, you just follow the signs into a nice big field. Then walk into the circuit. On the back of the badge is a QR code which they will scan every time you enter/leave the circuit.

Yeah, you obviously weren't following the conversation closely enough with regards to recognising each other by our neck attire! I'll also be recognised as the guy chasing after some old duffer in a wheelchair/buggy thing as he goes charging off and before he damages about £10m of metal on the grid smile

I'll be well disguised. Wouldn't get past the gate in that outfit.

Weather update: the local BBC forecast shows ambient temperatures of around 8-9c max, with a brisk Northerly wind of around 14mph on Saturday, 11mph but reducing on Sunday.

Which will make it feel rather colder than 8-9c.

Should be dry, though.

If only mclaren would run their car instead of just a static display.

I'm not sure that car has run since the race. There is a road car painted in just the black/gunmetal colour scheme with no stickers that looks really good.

And yes I will be wearing a tie! wink

It ran at Goodwood in 2013

Word has it that Mclaren are bringing 'a couple'. It'd be great, and fitting, if #01R (Le Mans Winner) came, but it has been said it'd be great to see both shorttail LARK cars together, with Mclaren owning one and Andy owning the other; or they could bring #20R, the longtail often seen on their boardwalk, or even XP1LM seeing as it was made to celebrate the Le Mans success
