Why were there all these modern cars at the 'motorshow'? Where abouts was it, inside or outside the actual circuit perimeter?
The Earls Court Motor Show was inside the track, near the Paddock. The idea behind having some modern cars shown there is that they are concepts of what will be available in the future.

I was told that the owner cant afford to keep its airworthness certificate, and that it is currently on an American one that is less stringent than a British one. Could be a load of old B*****ks though.
That's what I was told too. Also that the owner has achieved all he set out to achieve with the plane along with a rather hooded phrase that basically meant 'the more hours it has in the air, the more likely it is to crash'.

Sounds a bit far-fetched to me, and is just another thing detracting from the actual motor racing which the Goodwood Revival is supposedly all about. I've supper with Lord March soon so maybe I'll put some of the questions asked to him.

I thought it worked quite well really, although the lighting could have been better. Admittedly I'm slightly biased as it was an opportunity for me to catch up with the two Peters on the Noble stand, but I don't think it detracted from the motor racing. After all there's plenty of time to watch the racing too if you're there for three days. It would also somewhere to go if it happened to be cold or wet and you're not lucky enough to be able to go in the hospitality tents. smile

And not just any GT's...one of seven Mk. III's and the '66 Le Mans winner. Somebody is spoiled.

I was lucky enough to be part of the Stirling Moss 80th parade and the Mini 50th Anniversary parade too. Took hundreds of pics, but here are a few:

I think the motorshow is a great idea! (remember some of us pistonheads like the modern supercars too!) The motorshow has had some very rare supercars on show ,rarely seen in public at any other event...But as daisy duke has said, Its rather poorly lit inside..so when you see lord march, ask Him for some better lighting in the motorshow for next year! wink

missed the last few frown but goodwood always know how to do a motorsport event properly. Other circuits could learn from it.

Yeah, it's poorly lit like the 1950's Earls Court Motor Shows so rather in keeping wink

The idea does seem to be leading the event away from its original ethos. Its motto always was "A Magical Step Back in Time". Showing modern supercars doesn't seem to fit in with this notion. Isn't this type of display what the Festival is all about?

I believe that's why they are hidden inside, the Earls Court feature is only in its second year now.

I have to say that although I spent a full two days at the Festival, I didn't see one modern supercar, so they were quite well hidden.

Great thing to be involved with. I presume that is you driving the DB3S? Afraid we were too busy checking out the passenger in the #8 DB3S to notice all of the cars in the parade!!
