Well being the first Breakfast Club I've been to, I semi-expected the weather to put a lot of people off. . .apparently I was wrong. First few shots from me

Random observation that I'm sure a lot of people spotted, the civilian speed radar guy right at the 30 sign coming down from the 40 in Singleton.
There was a chap sat in a grey pickup on the right, in a high vis jacket, drinking a coffee. I wondered if he was a local guy getting fed up with these events and just compiling a list to help his case. I'm sure a lot of people saw this?
They are keeping tabs on traffic thru to goodwood events. There was a chap sat in a grey pickup on the right, in a high vis jacket, drinking a coffee. I wondered if he was a local guy getting fed up with these events and just compiling a list to help his case. I'm sure a lot of people saw this?
The Speed Indicator Device (SID) was used again on the weekend of the Goodwood 73rd Members Meeting - 21st to 22nd March, on both the Saturday and the Sunday between 8.00am and 10.00am.
During those two hours on Saturday, 1,001 vehicles were counted driving through the village, of which 18 decided to exceed the 30 mph speed limit, the fastest travelling at 43mph.
On Sunday 825 vehicles passed through during the same period, of which 22 decided to ignore the 30mph limt, the worst hitting 50mph. Also on Sunday there was a high volume of horse boxes on the road. These caused big tail backs and kept the speed down.
Over the weekend nearly all those ignoring the limit were young drivers and many drivers gave a "thumbs up " with only one giving an opposite sign.
Very few bikers passed through Cocking, and they were contained in slower traffic.

Absolutely disgusting, they should be ashamed of themselves (yes, all 18 of the 1000 cars) - especially 43 in a 30 at 8.00am on a weekend morning through a sleepy village. Tut , tut, tutHave to say those figures are very good and show that car enthusiasts probably stick to the speed limit in the right areas and save it for somewhere else.
It would be interesting to hear results of a report on normal main road (50mph). Wonder if more then 22 in a 1000 would speed, my guess would be yes?

Zonda? F40? XJ220? La Ferrari?
Didn't see the LaF. Seemingly missed the 'Segg and 918. No P1 or F1I sound like a snob. But I don't mean to. And I don't want to kick the owners for taking the time to bring them out. Maybe I'm just too blasé about these cars.
I really appreciate people taking time out to show off what are often extremely valuable cars, just lucky I'm only a 30 minute drive away from Goodwood. We missed the 918 and La Ferrari, got soaked but still had a great morning. Big thanks to everyone including the Marshalls, roll on next month.

Is there anywhere I can see the report? The numbers do seem extremely low and I think if I did that on my street in town on any day of the week I will actually catch more.
Also how can you decide if the offending cars are related to Goodwood?
Cocking.org. Village news. SID news. Pretty straight reporting to be fair. Also how can you decide if the offending cars are related to Goodwood?

doesn't make any sense !? - what are you comparing it to ?? what the normal rate of "speeders" on a regular non goodwood day ?? its pretty good stats if you ask me...
It's very biased data as they are only getting the equipment when an event at Goodwood is on.
I'd like to see the full data collected, I'm guessing it must be available to the public, freedom of information and all that.
I also draw your attention to these 2 happy chaps http://cocking.org/news/village-news-articles/260-... they appear to have setup their equipment over a public footpath, blocking it for me to walk along.
It is also an offence under section 137 of the highways act 1980.
