Im still very amazed at the crowds response to his driving coming out of the chicane its fabulous and even better to watch with it.

Also the amount of people wanting to chat with him about his drive its fantastic.

Also I think the quality of cars is getting better and better every year.

Going off at a tangent but do you think the quality of the cars is getting too good? I mean I don't remember any Austin A35s with disc brakes and rose-jointed anti-roll bars! Or... does one simply say it creates exciting viewing and get on with it? scratchchin

I agree in that respect updating the car in that way isnt strictly allowed. For example Grants car isnt supposed to use coilover suspension or even weber carbs, but yet there are one or two other vehicles which have this and a more modern setup with the car.

I was fortunate enough to be in the paddock with the GT40's, BRMs and Ferraris of all kinds and couldnt believe the attention to detail on them. And also that some of them are pure racing cars and a little rough around the edges.

I think its more how many cars there are there in total weather its inside the circuit or even in the car park.

The guy who was camping next to us in a big american motor home was racing in a lola. And the first day he turned up in a mint and i mean mint conditioned BMW 2002tii and the next day a ferrari 275GTb I think and his Mrs had an older Maserati Quattroporte and the guy was a pure gent really talketive. That was just one case the whole campsite was like this.

Sorry to ramble on.

As you were

The revival meeting relies on the competitors to ahdere to the regulations themselves, the scrutineers have very little specific knowledge of each car,the regs are clear, for the MK1 jag. standard bore,Not +10%,cast iron manifolds not tubular steel std suspension not coilovers, std body panels not lightweight, but as in all forms of racing the desire to win is strongest, especially as Goowood is a "gentlemans" race so no-one would ever put in a protest.smile
