Things around goodwood

Hi,

Have a camping pass for the weekend and whilst have tickets for Friday and Saturday with friends I am planning to travel down and spend a relaxing Thursday in the local area before the event.

Any suggestions for dad and a 16yo to do? The Tangmere military museum looks interesting but nothing else jumps out. Have a car and so 45mins-1hr from goodwood would work.

I know obvious answer is to buy Thursday tickets but fancy something different and complimentary….

Thanks all, some good suggestions there. Portsmouth harbour or the aviation museum look to be the best bets.

Off topic but egarding the houses rebuilt we have a similar one a short walk from the house - St Fagans museum of welsh history. A great day out for anyone in South Wales…
