Alternative ideas very welcome, thanks - that was half the idea of starting a thread actually, rather than just finding out the measurements of the iPhone 6 and comparing it with saddlebags online; I'm interested in how people cope with big phones, as I've noticed my old 4S is easily the smallest of all the phones I see people with from day to day.

You've got the largest bag your bike shop sold and it's already full? What on earth are you carrying in it?

Personally I'd be looking to slim down the load in there rather than find a larger bag. My current emergency kit consists of:

1x spare tube
1x small multitool
1x chain tool
2x chain quick-links
4x cable ties
1x glueless patch kit
2x tyre levers
3x cards (debit card, ID, oyster card)
1x door key
1x £10 note

That lot goes in a pouch the size of a cigarette packet. Admittedly I don't put my phone in there (it goes in my pocket) but I wouldn't need a much larger saddle bag to fit that in as well. Aside from a pump (which goes on the frame normally - #30 be damned) I can't see what else you'd need. I really don't understand why I see so many roadies out and about on lightweight bikes with saddlebags the size of rucksacks! confused

As listed in my first post:

I've currently got the largest one my local bike shop had, which takes my door key, a spare inner tube, compressed air cannister, allen keys, tyre spanners, some disposable gloves and my iPhone 4S in a slim case. That's the lot though, it won't take any more.
If you think that's small, then I can only assume that my local bike shop only sell small saddlebags. They had two or three sizes, and I picked the largest. This is a good sign for the ones I've seen on Wiggle (many of which don't show dimensions, but some have it in the Q&A, so I'll measure mine later and compare).

As I've already mentioned on another thread.

Acquired with the luggage stickers from Tesco. Very nice bit of kit, and surprisingly capacious. I can easily get my 6+, a couple of spare tubes, levers, gas canisters, gas pump, and multi tool in it, without it feeling bulky or awkward.

Having seen an iPhone 6 last night for the first time I'd suggest this

hehe

I have a nexus4 ( similar size but heavier than an iphone 6) that sits in my left jersey pocket. A lezyne caddy sack with tube, multi tool, tyre levers and co2 in the middle pocket and food/gels/keys in the right jersey pocket. Hardly notice them when on the bike and less annoying than a saddle bag rattling around under the seat.

Had pretty much the same for a mountain bike race ( tube much bigger! ) and it didn't bother me, you get used to it.

Yeah, its ugly, but its been pretty handy. Usually carry my HTC Desire 500 in it, as i really dont want that in my back pocket if i get knocked off my bike (again). Also have a spare inner tube, Co2 pump, puncture repair kit & levers, work id card, keys. On weekend rides its big enough to fit in a banana, some soreen and some jelly babies too

Rattling? Sounds like you need to tighten the straps biggrin It should move a lot less than stuff in your pockets would.

Very similar setup here.

Main difference is using a small saddlebag for tubes (Fizik) that just clips into whatever bike I'm on. Offroad a couple of tubes get stuffed in shorts pockets.

Anything like an audax then a top tube bag gets added
