Only myself and GingerPaul in the end, but good fun. Glad to hear youy've got the bike back together now, let's hope we can get another PH biking meet soon.

If anyone wants to pedal in the evenings or over the next couple of weekends then let me know.

Was nice to meet you the other day Jules.

Glad your bike is back in one piece WVM. I be up for a ride one evening later on in the week. Thursday looks like the nicest day this week from a weather point of view.

Anyone fancy an hour or two out this Sunday, fairly early, say 10am?

Well I've been and come back.

Have to say, I much prefer weekday mornings whethe place is empty. Too many runners on th trails today and that's with me getting there at 9am. Also what's why do so many people feel the need to wear body armour? Its not like there are any serious downhills. Final grumble, whils all the dog walkers and runners retyrned my cheery greetings, quite a few mauntain bikers loked at me like I'd asked to bum them. All in all, I think I try and stick to the quieter periods.

Phill,

Yes you're right on all counts, although I wasn't there yesterday as I took the opportunity to go down to Leith Hill. The weekends are a lot busier than any time in the week but early Sunday is usually okay as most people are too busy to get out of bed at that time of the day.

There does seem to be an increase in the amoun of body armour worn around there. Maybe people just wear it for all rides, but as you point out, the downhills are not that severe and there don't appear to be any big drop off's etc, so it's all probably down to some macho attitude of wearing extra kit. Personally I prefer being able to get some fresh air to my body rather than being shielded by plastic armour.

Your last point is the one that also annoys me immensely. It doesn't take a lot to smile/say hello/generally acknowledge someone but it is quite unbelievable the amount of times I've made the effort only to be blanked. Given we all share the same passion for the sport, I cannot understand why people do this. However, it won't stop me saying hello in future, and to those miserable so and so's who don't respond, may they have a thousand punctures!!!!
