fk it, I've just purchased the swift. Came to 73 quid after the 15% voucher and 3% quidco cashback.

I have never tried a brooks saddle (can you ever really try something that takes 100miles+ to break in?) but loads of the mega distance guys use them, so they must be good for something - I know a guy with one on his all black roadie and it does look really, really cool with some brown bartape - get it done.

the brown bartape has been ordered (although I couldn't justify spending 35 quid on the brooks real deal stuff)

Good man. Have you ridden on it yet? I still don't have a bike for mine...

not yet. going to pick it up in a while.

I showed my colleague the saddle on the evans website and he nearly fell off his chair when he saw how much it was...

Got a Brooks B17 Imperial on a brompton. The Hole in the centre allows you to lean forward on a road bike without crushing your balls unlike the standard B17. The Brook B17 Imperial is now my saddle of choice (after the painfull 200 mile break in).

I nearly went for an Imperial, but was seduced by the cheesey special edition. Hopefully a jaunty forward rake will alleviate any unpleasantness because I can't afford not to use it!

..and having used it today it is like a form of sexual assault, but I will not let it win, and it will get broken in...

Did you read the instruction leaflet about coating it top & bottom with Brooks Proofide to break it in? Probably best if you don't wear white shorts or trousers for a while as well. hehe

after a copious amount of proofhide, and a little ride in the rain, it is now very comfortable indeed. It's a lot of cash to spend, but considering it should last 25 odd years, it's not that much cash is it really....

Apologies to bump an old thread, but I've been looking to purchase a Brooks saddle for my fixie, to use on my commute.

I was just wondering if anyone who purchased when this thread was active could provide an update as to how its going several months down the line?

I've been loooking at the bog standard B17 in either black or brown, but have also been tempted by the 'B17 Laces aged tan' (£10 more) and also the B66 which has the springs on the back (+ £20). Are the springs of much use and worth the premium?

Any recommendations from the three I've listed?

Thanks in advance!
