Thanks. They look nice in white but I think they're only painted or powder coated, and the colouring doesn't seem particularly durable. I've scratched one already. You could only use them with discs.

According to the Whyte website, they are "Alex Race 28, Deep Section Road, 32 Hole Rear and 28 Front". When I pasted that into Google I only got responses for my whole bike. Couldn't give you a price on the wheels alone. Given that the whole bike was only £700 I wouldn't think they'd be terrbly expensive.
My Trek is kitted out with disc brakes, albeit relatively basic mechanical rather than hydraulic.

Even if they aren't available separately, its given me an idea of what sort of thing to look for - many thanks!

You could have your wheels rebuilt with Halo white Aerowarrior or Aerotrack rims.

Ah I looked at the 7.3 disc before settling on the Whyte. I wanted hydraulics, for absolutely no reason other than I probably won't buy another bike and I love gadgets. Although they're not the greatest brand on the Whyte, they work fabulously and satisfy the "engineer" in me. smile

If I'm honest, the 7.3 geometry suited me better than the Whyte (more upright seating position) however I've just bought a Richey 30 degree stem which I hope will bring the Whyte's handlebars where I want them.

Anyway, back to the rims... my previous bike was from around 1994 so things had moved on a lot. Along with hydraulic discs, my shopping list included deep profile rims, and a compact/double chainring rather than a triple. All things the "engineer" in me wanted. Still, I love the bike and will probably upgrade it as time passes. I've seen a set of CF forks for my next upgrade, which might take the sting out of the poor roads I ride on. biggrin

I have a Carrera hybrid for the road / commute to work to go alongside my mountain bike a nice compromise I can't complain.
