Not so up to date with Dawes or that German company but I'd rather have a Ghost personally. Here's a reduced SE1900 as well:
48cm/19":

Hydraulics slightly more powerful but some good cable discs are better than cheap hydraulics - and with cables you can adjust them when the pads wear too.

Yep, i would go for the one from germany. My brother runs those brakes on his and they are actually very good, much better in my opinion than mechanical discs so definitely worth the extra.
The rest of the specs are very similar, the RST forks just do a job though, they tend to be quite stiff but at the end of the day, you have an excellent lightweight frame so could upgrade in the future if you didnt get on with them etc

Bit of a nightmare, the German company doesnt have any 48cm frames left in the 2010 model. They will do the 2011 model at 549euro (£480ish). I may be back to the link sent by Roman for the se1900 at £379 !
£100 is a lot for a novice rider (who may not use the bike a huge amount) for little difference apart from hydraulic brakes...though £100 is also not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things! (When I used to smoke it bought me a few weeks of cigs....)

I used to own a grifter in my youth and I also quit the cigs a couple of years ago too! I've found cycling a great way to take my mind off things and get the fitness level up after years of wrecking my health!
I bought a Specialized Crosstrail for £350 from a local bike shop. The hybrid option was definitely the right choice for me as theres no mountains where I live but there are lots of potholes! Anyway I use it rain or shine and have surprised myself how far i've been on it. I'm glad I went to a decent shop and sat on a few as I think getting the right size and fit must help. I'm not massively into bicycle technology but noticed there's good discounts to be had if you buy last years model which is what I'll probably do when the time comes to replace the current bike.

Hi Jon, I'm looking forward to getting one! I had decided on the Ghost SE2000 from Germany@549euro (£480ish).They initially said 5-7days.....it has now suddenly become week 15 before they get it - then it has to be built and shipped! I am thinking of cancelling my order and going to get a last year model!
