As I know nothing about mountain bikes, what's wrong with a lefty?
They have 50% of the fork legs a normal bike would have! (and look massively stupid/unsafe/wrong)

To be fair, anyone doing a downhill course on a lefty would be stting themselves too yikes

Despite what Cannondale claim the rest of the world believes that 2 fork legs are optimal/stronger/safer for pretty much all riding.

Downhill or even all mountain forks are two legged, big travel, burly, chunky things - and for very good reasons.

I'd have reservations about riding a lefty around blue trails in the woods. I sure as hell wouldn't consider taking then to a DH course.

Haha, yeah that's the one! I think the old derelict pub was called the Floating Light, and there's one in Diggle called the Hanging Gate, so can see where the confusion came from....! wink

I you carry on through Standedge Cutting, theres another pub on your right called the Carriage House which does some great homebrew ciders if I remember rightly. Wouldn't want to have too many of those and attempt the ride home though....! drunk
Yeh, Floating light.
We turned around at top of the cutting, nursing hangovers we didnt want to do any climbing confused
Ive heard the road by the side of the Carriage House is abit tasty?

The old man celebrating reaching a trig point on the quantocks - not bad for a 57 year old on a 20 year old diamond back!

Finally got around to riding the Downslink trail today. Let's face it, it's not very difficult but good fun & a very pretty route.

Enforced stop to let a foot race pass by.

I don't remember Bender's crack TBH hehe

Go down the road on the right after the Carriage House, down to the bottom and over the roundabout. Turn right when you get to the end and over the top into Meltham. Turn right again at the top of the climb in the village onto the Wessenden Head Road. After a "short" climb you will reach the road back into Greenfield. Nice little run out.

Quick ride out whilst my lad was partaking in some canoe slalom training on Llyn Tegid.

It absolutely hammered down about 2/3 of the way around the 20k loop I was doing, the joys of the Welsh mountains!

Yup. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_Hill,_Shaftesbur... Nowhere near Yorkshire, except in TV-land.

Hopefully this is a straight answer to a genuine question, but there's always a risk of a low flying parrot on PH wink
