With RadamRing looming there was appetite to get some early season miles in, someone from this here PH spotted a deal to get a Bristol to London train for a tenner and the rest was kind of inevitable...ended up as 223km, the last 75 were not a friendly place to be for me... Edd was also a victim along with a few more...including one (nutjob!) who did 200k to the start as a warm up...

A quick 40km natural loop around LLangollen this morning:
Worlds End / Panorama?I'm up the road in Penymynydd.....
Winched up past OGL, then smashed it down Allt Y Badi, a bit of a cheeky cut up and back down to the river, up the road to Worlds End, then a bit more cheeky down the Dyke ;-)
It was (most of) the Rad am Ring squad.
Pablo and EddH live in Bristol and caught the train to London first, JustinF and I rode with them to Bristol and caught the train back to London. useget came with us as far as his home town of Reading, and mad am ring soloist johno78 rode from his place near Kings Lynn to London first, then on to Bath with us.
See what you're all missing out on by not signing up to Rad am Ring?

Yeah I bailed out at 90 miles in as I was hurting a bit!
That's still good going, well done (I have yet to exceed 85 miles in a ride...)Did you all catch the train back or what?
(read my girlfriend)
99% sure I saw swerni riding towards us on the other side of the road too around Sunbury/Staines, well it was a tall bloke on a dark blue road bike....
It was a really good ride, all thanks to a £10 single train ticket offer that Gruffy found when researching routes in prep for TCR! Theweather was near perfect and there was a good tailwind which wasnt much but would have been horrendous had we been going west to east. I was really pleased with a >25 kmh average and we only had one mechancial between over 1000 kms of colelctive riding when muppet here decided to investigate a pothole and punctured the front. The route I used was mostly the Bristol to London sportive route but with a few more miles on the A4 as the sportive finishes at Sandown Park.
I think we got pace and food pretty much spot on though ended up in the North Wessex downs desperate for a local shop (for local people) when nirvana appeared in the form of a Spar. £10 later and we had enough food and drink to sustain us for the rest of the journey. Well until Bath where I introduced Laurence and Justin to Schwartz Bros burgers....
No idea if it will be beneficial for radamring as we will most likle y be doing on (27kms) lap on and three off but if we have to double up its always useful to have miles on the legs. Most importantly Johno wanted to seee what 2/3 race distance non stop felt like as he is doing rad solo and I think he got an answer....

What a lovely day yesterday was! Want to get a big training ride in for the Fred over the weekend, but it doesn't look like the weather will co-operate.
Shipley on the ride in. Usually a very quiet stretch of road, there have been roadworks on the main A24 recently meaning a lot of car-using dicks have been coming along here.
At the top of Chantry Lane. It's a dead end at the top, coming out on the SDW, and the surface is sketchy, but I should come up here more. Knowing you just got a pb on the way up makes this a better photo!
On the way up Chantry Lane. There is a lovely 70's house sitting just back from a mill pond a bit further up
