Bright side: Warm & Sunny. Not so bright side: Swallowing a fly is not the best start to the day.

Other bright side: Mooching around Google maps, I found a new route over the downs. New to me anyway, so I've come in on the MTB with a view to a very nice ride home.

Lovely trip in this morning,

I also do this Justin, I keep looking at maps to see if an alternative route is possible, but in the end I know the roads and route, distance and timings so well now, I just prefer to go the same way, even though I have found a way to avoid one of the big climbs ....

Was ok on the ride in this morning, but yesterday evening was like bloody nodder-geddon..
Had 2 inept morons actually ride into me after not bothering to shoulder check. Was not a happy bunny at all!
Glad I'm not the only one that experiences them. Had some girl indicate and put her hand into me because I was next to her. At the same time she just veered right until I shouted.

Someone did that to me, so they could illegally turn into a one way street the wrong way. When I shouted at them, I was met with a barrage of swearing and "I was indicating!!"

Ah the joys of urban commuting hey guys? Rather you than me!
With four weeks to go until Chase The Sun I figured I ought to actually get some miles in so rode home today, Got utterly utterly drenched but no one almost killed me, which was nice.
Both car and van are at work so no excuses in the morning either smile

Edit to add: just checked weather for the morning, dry, warm and a 15 MpH tailwind, woohoo!

Fair bit of camera wobble, I only watched the first few minutes, I assume you aren't clipped in..

Nice video though

I watched it all the way through. Was OK until the(am guessing here)exertion from the hills caused the lens to mist over hehe to the detriment of the later part of the film.
A good effort though. smile

I would venture a better camera would be an idea. Lidl's finest are not known for their um, finery.

Still, fair play for doing all that on a singlespeed. Did you have it in fixie mode?

Today I took my good* bike, normally I commute by single speed. I took a minute off my PB and scored about 15 Strava PRs on the way. OK, it's London, so every sodding paving stone is a Strava segement.

I'm starting to build the N+1 discussion in my head, which goes like this:

I took my better bike -> I went faster -> I'm getting fitter -> Mrs B likes me fitter -> If I get an even better bike, I'll get even more fitterer -> getting a new bike = more happier Mrs B. biggrin

However, the initial response indicates I am at S-1 already frown

* it's not all that good - it's a Revolution Cross c/w road tyres.

yeah clipped in but single speed. the camera was mounted on my handle bars hence the wobble. the "mist" was a bit of water that flew up off the road.

Lol, not braved the fixie yet. Commuted all week on free wheel single speed, I'm in a little pain today but its fun!

It's just a little bit of rain, not much.....enough to benefit from the luminous overshoes.

Anyway - this morning I blasted through the 500km mark for this month, by the time I get home tonight I'll be just short of 540 which is my record. I reckon I can squeeze in another 2 days commuting and a ride on Saturday - which might just get me to 650........

My first ride in for a fortnight.

It was eventful as my Garmin had a brain fart and produced a bizarre route that bore no reflection to the actual roads cycled! It was even more eventful when on arriving at work , I found out I had no trousers!

Luckily, I was loaned an old pair of overall trousers that are about 8 sizes too large meaning I have to be careful walking around! Could have been worse of course, I could have been sitting here in my bib-shortsbiggrin

Been there done that got the trousers!

Did it at my old place of work, got in for a half day and realised ...no trousers!! Thankfully there was a retail park behind , so I popped over to Next. Not the kind of office you would want to spend all day in lycra in...

At my current place there are no shops for 5 miles, no clothes shops for 15 miles, so I always keep at least 3 pairs of trousers just in case!!!!

First of only two this week.

Wet.

Hungover.

Slow.

But I didn't care as I was happily singing QPR songs to myself :-)

Soaked on the way home... and another visit from the P fairy - that's four in the last few weeks......this one was exciting - because everything was wet, I could see the air streaming out making a rotating waterfall!
