Is Froome struggling a bit ?
He was already struggling yesterday, today even more.

And not only Froome himself, his team even more so. Porte and Thomas couldn't help him today, only the young, relatively inexperienced Wout Pouls.

Will be an interesting day tommorow. My guess is that Froome will make it, but if the TDF was a day or 2 to 3 longer.....

Rubbish. Both said he was a knob for claiming that he didn't see Froome was in difficulties, but both admitted that it was legitimate for him to do what he did.
dont start writing crap to start an argument Millar clearly changed his mind.He was out of order you can dress it up anyway you want but he did the dirty on Froome oris Froome wrong in what he said too.
I know it's professional racing but I think it was poor of Nibali (and I'm a big fan of his) to attack whilst Froome was having a mechanical. However the rest of his ride - top drawer. Really hoping for an aggressive start for tomorrow's stage - I'm half way up Alpe d'huez hoping to watch an awesome finale. Moreover, I think Froome has more than enough time in hand over Quintana.
Did they stop to wait for Nibali when he had mechanical issues during the first week. No, and he lost 1' 38''. It's called racing and you have to accept it for what it is, nothing shady happened today.

For what it's worth, I don't think being last year's winner confers any special status amongst the peleton in the following year, it's the yellow jersey that counts. As I understand it in the stage in question, Sky were criticised for not pushing when the split with Nibali happened. I suppose if you are riding for Sky you are stuffed either way.

Over the number of years I've watched, there have been endless disagreements over advantages taken in certain circumstances as well as a number of rows about riders attempting to prevent groups gaining time when there have been crashes or problems.

In my opinion there is a somewhat rose tinted spectacle view of what probably didn't happen much in the past, that being an unwillingness to take time off the leader through their misfortune rather than through racing merit. I'm glad that some still hope for it, and saddened when others declare that there is no room for it in the current era.

Looking at the footage, I suspect that Nibali didn't register that Froome had stopped or was stopping. He appears to be looking directly at his teamate, probably saw that Froome was dropping back, but given his riding style wasn't necessarily alarmed. The footage is unfortunate and he was very unlucky to make his break just as Froome had problems. Or perhaps he didn't care either way.

Hopefully the air will be cleared behind the scenes before tomorrow's climax. Will Valverde put his podium position at risk to try and help his team leader win? Looking forward to the spectacle and hope that no idiots on the roadside do anything really stupid.

I really hope tomorrow isn't an anti climax. I hope everything including the kitchen sink is thrown at sky. Should make for great viewing.

No, just don't want to see a precession. I want to see great racing. I don't care who wins, just that they leave it all on the road.

Don't blame him, its a race not a charity, not as if Froome would stop and wait if it was vice versa
I think he would.
And if he thought it was an OK move why did he lie about it in the interview?
It's not sporting and he knew it wasn't.

By that logic Nibali should've waited when Froome fell last year.

I don't think I'd ever describe this tour or any other GT as a precession, 19 stages, 16 different winners with only one of those in a Sky shirt.

Nibali knew exactly what was happening yesterday, maybe he didn't twig when he looked around and saw Froome slowing but when he looked around for the second time and saw him pretty much stop that's when he attacked.

You've got to wonder how much scrutiny Nibali will come under today and how many doping questions he'll face? After all, Nibali has been nowhere in the previous 2 weeks, getting dropped at the slightest hint of a hill, now all of a sudden he takes a quite dominating victory on one of the biggest stages of the tour and beats the yellow jersey who is suspected of doping himself.

I suspect it'll be none and the usual Twitter warriors will be frothing to explain Nibali's victory away whilst still no doubt attacking Froome.

The racing has been good this year but there's been a lot of negatives for me, spitting, punching, throwing cups of pee and the constant doping attacks on Team Sky have put a damp cloud over things too.

Yes, because I didn't want to see a procession. I would have said the same if it was Bertie, and I'm pretty sure I said the same about Nibbles last year. I want to see close racing, not one guy standing head and shoulders above others.
