mine is boring as hell, 2 straight bits of road about 10 turns.....ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............
Why not ride a different route? For the last three days I've been conducting a bit of an experiment with my commute. According to a recent tooth paste commercial if you smile you can be noticed up to a hundred meters away (that's more than fifty times further than some drivers notice hi-viz). So I have been making a conscious effort to ensure I'm in a good mood when I ride my bike. Seriously my blog reads back like I've been taking beta-blockers.
I have to report in the last three days nobody has tired to kill me to death and there have only been a few near misses. Two of whom were the same driver in the same Subaru WRX, but I only know one person who owns a WRX and isn't a complete tool; she lives in LA so it's safe to say if I hear one behind me I expect something doltish is about to happen.
For my next advert based experiment I'm going to run and jump at a Citroen Cactus to see if the keyless entry system is as good as advertised.

Brought the hairdresser mobile to work yesterday, rode home 1.40 for 26 miles, Bristol>bath>Wilts... Cycled back in this morning, jesus Christ -totally different story, felt weak, tired, powerless and to top it off my glasses broke so rode along the cycle track blind .
What I cant get over is the amount I carry on sweating after ive had a shower !!

Yeah, I thought 2 hours would be enough - took me 1.40 to get home last night, but its slightly down hill going from Bris>Bath isn't it.. Might leave a bit earlier next time I cycle TO work , nah - screw it, I like going fast .TheAllSeeingPie said:
Glad you weren't injured! A few hours with a spoke key might fix that wheel provided there aren't any creases in it and spokes haven't snapped.
If it's fixable, the LBS will be doing it at the driver's expense. I'd just recently replaced the hub and tensioning/truing it was a right PITA, so I really can't be bothered doing it all again!I lowered myself today and used a hand gesture to suggest the driver was a dedicated self abuser.
He very nearly had me, trying to overtake on a corner, in a filtered junction, when there wasn't space for him infront of me without hitting or being too close to the car in front.
Luckier than some one here though recently. Sorry to hear about people's offs.

Might be worth getting them to check the frame is still aligned? Sometimes the rear stays can get a little twisted when that much force is exerted on the rear wheel.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
