Yeah, yeah, I know...rolleyes

I have a bike (bicycle) in one location that needs transferring to another location and the only vehicle I currently have available is a Saxo.

What are the chances of getting an average (smallish framed) Adult Mountain bike into a Saxo then?! confused

Or am I going to have to do the time wasting 2hour round trip to get the bike rack?

Take the front wheel off and fold the seats flat and it's very easy. Can get two adult MTBs in the back of my 106 and, as I'm sure you're aware, they're the same car.

I think you could manage it but you would probably have to take one or both wheels off. My friend regularly used to put his bike in the back of his MKIII Fiesta. He also managed to get his bike in a MKII MR2. Anything is possible, it depends how whole you want the bike when it is in the car.

Easy. I could get two full sized mountain bikes in the back of my Polo with the wheels removed smile

In fact I can even get one in the back of the Prelude biggrin

I take it that it wasn't the Polo's wheels that were removed smile

Even then, if the bikes have their wheels removed, they're no longer full sized, are they. smile

Sorry, I'm in bit of a funny mood

Take the front wheel off and it will fit in with the seats folded down. Used to put my bike in the back of the 106 regularly when I had one.

and with the back seats folded you'll get at least another 10bhp and better handling according to the internets
as above,

10 take front wheel off,
20 does it fit?
30 If answer = yes goto 80
40 determine what fixture is stopping it going in,
50 REM (saddle and post most likely next, rear wheel as last resort in my experience)
60 remove item
70 goto 20
80 Bob really is your uncle.

apologies for crap code

Brilliant clap

Guess I will give it a go then... Some Disassembling may be required!

In my humble experience it is often the girth of the hole that is the restriction as it were, rather than the capacity of the interior space wink

100% as long as the wheels come off.

On two occasions I took myself, a mate, our two large full sussers and a week's worth of kit to North Wales in the back of a Saxo just by folding the seats down.

Used to get my bike in the back of a Quantum kit car regularly too, which was more impressive!

Yes, it will fit fine.

It really amuses me in the shop how much we get asked things like this, people thinking about hiring vans and all sorts just to get their bikes home.

I used to get 4 bikes in my 306 easy, and these days I can still fit my MTB plus all my gear IN my MX5!

Without a passenger I take it? I'm quite keenly into MTB in the summer and was dreading having to buy a boot rack - how does it all fit?

Yes, obviously, just me and my bike. If theres two of us going - They drive.

It just about goes in with the seat in, but if you unbolt the seat (piss easy) then theres actually fairly large and useful load space. I've also had 4 wheels and tyres in there with no bother.

I used to bung my Specialized in the boot of my Chimaera smile People were amazed that it would fit! I put my bike in the boot of my Merc now, although to get it in I have to remove the saddle and both wheels - the fuel tank is between the boot and rear seats so they won't fold down.
