Best time to buy

Me and the OH were looking at getting a couple of hybrids just for gentle runs out (Specialized Sirrus and Ridgeback Meteor) but we won't really start using them till Spring.

Is it best to buy now (no apparent deals) or are there often better deals to be had actually in Spring?

Too late for this year. All the 2011 ranges were released between August and October last year, so the sales of last year's stock (usually just different colours) will all be gone unless you are either very short or very tall.

The 2011 bikes will go on sale this autumn when the 2012 bikes come out.

It depends on where you are. Here in Bucks my two LBS' are having keen sales on at the mo and you can even get 15% off any 2011 bike in store. The remaining 2010 stock is cheaper still but stocks are diminishing.
