I've got a 1992 Marin Pine Mountain which is in a bit of a sorry state cosmetically - the paint on the frame is okay, but the decals are long gone; the forks are not the right colour; the bars are risers rather than flats. Mechanically it's good.
I keep meaning to get it resprayed and looking a lot smarter but it's a bit of a faff.
In the meantime, a friend has an early 1990s Lava Dome which he no longer uses and is happy to sell to me. Last time I saw it, I seem to think it was in prety good condition - and for a price less than it would cost me to get the Pine Mountain resprayed with new decals.

I've got an unsympathetically upgraded/converted for road use 92/93 Kirk Revolution. In the last couple of months it spat out it's BB shells and then I managed to crack the bit at the top of the seat tube. It’s a real pi55er as I had it just as I wanted it.
I’m on the lookout for another frame for it, either another Kirk or something else that’s old that I wanted as a teenager but couldn’t afford. The post above has got me thinking about Alpinestars…
I’ve always got my eye on Marins from the early 90s. I used to have the catalogues memorised.
