Fell on my "good" knee back in November (don't ask) walking tripped on some granite outside the cottage I was staying in, after descending a bloody slippery mountain..which was ironic...

It hurt but could walk and cycle with no pain, kneecap just hurt to touch otherwise cycling fine

Four weeks ago I knelt on same knee in Pilates and it just turned to mush, big lump of fluid on it now

Doctor advised it was either Patella or Pre Patella Bursitis, likely caused by initial injury and kneeling, he said I could carry on cycling, just don't wear trousers as they catch !

Anyway 4 weeks on and the fluid is still there on bloody knee! Some days not much, some days exactly the same as the first day I got it. Ive eased off the cycling, only going out once/twice a week, I never get any pain or discomfort riding .I have not knelt on it and gently stretch it. N

Anyone had it before? I was hoping it would have gone by now. I don't know whether cycling will delay recovery, or has no impact? The knee never hurts during riding , but the slow recovery is doing my nut in!

Cheers for the posts reassuring, all sounds the same as what i am suffering with, the worst thing I found was it caught on all trousers, apart from jogging bottoms or suit trousers, jeans and chinos been a no go

Spent the week doing bugger all and finally it has gone down a bit, will try a ride on Sunday and see how I go

At least it was an eye opener for how bad kneeling is on your knees! Im just ordering some knee pads as we speak
