Hi guys.
I'm looking for a road bike to go back and fore to work on, probably the occasional distance ride if its a nice day.
Maximum budget is around £1500. I'd prefer a carbon bike for no particular reason at all.
I'm about 5'9 on a generous day and weigh 11.5st.
I currently spend around £30 a week doing a 13.7 mile round trip to work everyday, so i'd like to cut down on that and would like to do less short journeys in my S4 (Hopefully upgrading to a V8 of some description at may).

Coming from a dh background i really wouldn't know where to start.

While i'm here..a few of my previous bikes!

Thanks in advance guys!

Thank you for your input guys.
I'll put together a short list later.

Any opinion on Cube? I was looking at the Agree gtc pro.

Thank you for all your input.

The bikes I'm interested in are:
The moda stretto.
Cube gtc pro compact.
Specialized tarmac.

The cube is priced at £1350 at the local (tredz).

What bike is the best in terms of value and componentry?
Thank you.

Right guys. The cube hasn't come in yet but i've just gone round the neighbours and he has a Trek Madone 4.5 he's willing to part with.

I don't know which year it is but it has the following:
Ultegra brakes
Ultegra Rear mech
105 chainset
105 shifters
Bontrager race lite wheels.

He's also got brand new Shimano Rd86 shoes.

He bought the bike for £800 and it is in extremely good condition. Does it sound like a good bike? How much should i offer him?
