All my cycling kit is roadie lycra type stuff but for an extended tour I've got coming up later in the year I want to get something that'll allow me to blend in a bit more and look a bit less like a spandex warrior so what do you MTB boys recommend?

I'm after some cargo type shorts and some 3/4s either with detachable padded liner or without plus a pair of padded undershorts and already have a pair of Endura Hummvee which have good outers but the clickfast liner isn't so great so I'd prefer to ditch it and try something like these:

Madison Undershorts

And for the 3/4 length shorts something like these:

Endura Zyme

Anyone used either? Any other recommendations?

If it's a decent length ride and you're looking for quality then I'd say a decent roadie pair of lycras then buy the MTB shorts that don't have an inner.

Also mean you can use bibs if you want to make sure you don't get the uncomfy waist issues some of the inner/baggy combinations have.
I see what you're saying but I'll be cycling through quite a few hot countries and always find lycra a bit warm and those Madison shorts look a bit more aerated to cut down the risk of betty swollocks. hehe

(if you are into that whole 3/4 length short wearing thing...)
hehe

No but some of the countries I'll be passing through expect me to dress conservatively so these will have to do.
