Outlaw pro mod

The reason I posted it was 2 fold , I thought it was quite funny considering the things going on at present and also to stir up a bit of intrest in a 1/8 mile class as I love to watch the U.S. Swedish and Aussie outlaw stuff
I'm sure Aussie TDS is 1/4 mile where the tracks are good enough. Calder Park is (or was) 1/8th mile for them but pretty sure Willowbank for one is 1320 feet. Same goes for their Top Fuellers and Funny Cars incidentally to chuck another stone in the 1k fart arguments :P
They don't have Pro-Mod down under but Top Doorslammer is a very worthy substitute from a spectator point of view. I'm not sure that we need it here though, more call for another 1/4 mile nitro class to go with the Nossie Floppers and Altereds - we cant just keep watching Apache v. Chaos forever!

Very true but man they are good! Stole the show on sundays festival of power for me... the way they fire up the engines and then cruise round the corner simultaneously... I hope the new nostalgia cars keep up that level of showmanship, made my daytom405 said:

Interestingly, Graham always said the reason SUMO wasnt popular was beacuse people couldnt think for themselves ?
When was SUMO unpopular? at one point there were far more SUMO cars that British Promods, I remember weighing and engine checking hundreds of the bloody things lolUgandaDave said:

The only thing unpopular about Super Mod was that it required thinking and working rather than reaching for the shoe whitener. People banded "cost" around, but most of the motorhomes in the pits cost a lot more than it did to run the Camaro.shovelheadrob said:
SUMO was possibly the best thing we've had in British drag racing, it's a shame that too many racers are lazy & don't want to learn how to go faster.
I agree sumo was a great class, I think it's a little harsh saying racers are too lazy....sometimes it's down to not having enough money, or have other financial priorities, and also some people just don't want to go that fast....I'm perfectly happy running 10 seconds, while keeping costs under control so I don't end up remortgaging the house!Gassing Station | Drag Racing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
