I'd quite like to see a Cannonball run style of running the NFAA, that would suit me down to the ground. Lots of runs, and also it's light hearted at the same time!
sounds like a good idea, everyone gets plenty of runs still - important for racers and the fans, but you also get the element of competition requiring not only quick runs but consistancy to win

Def a good idea, no one goes home early and can run fastest two at the end.
Furyous/NuthinFancy.
Looks like this may be the way to go - sort of a half way house.
It's possible to take the lowest aggregate of,3 runs (2 day meet) or 5 runs (3 day meet), but it takes a lot of number crunching and I'm better at spending than adding !!
I still think the USA way is marginally better, final run of the day is the two quickest ET's for 'Winner' and 'R/U'. If one, or both of the lowest ET's cannot make it through breakages or if they feel that the tune has gone away and they cannot replicate it, then the next quickest would step in as an alternate.
What are your thoughts ?

Lawrie, you've just confused me !!!!!
Ive got good memories of the Cannonball days at the pod and I think it would work well for you guys as you are a bit more repeatable than the old fuel coups.
Leave it to race control/commentry to tell the story.I always quite liked watching the build up of times thru the weekend in the old days.
As long as everyone gets good track time who really cares tho ?

There were many memorable moments from the years past but does anyone remember back to the "GARY'S PICNIC" years at the Pod, There were no proper rules as such which made it grossly unfair, however with a £1000 prize up for the winner, night racing and the Swedes with their awesome machines it did make for exciting "money" heads up racing which then meant something as prize money wasn't banded about much. If you were lucky to be a giant killer like I was on one ocassion night racing, I was against a lightweight and got the win light on my 10.72@128 against a 10.57@138, you were an instant star for the moment with the crowd going wild...it was terrific fun and the most memorable time for me. The Swedes really put on a show with their "Hemi Cudas" and the like and took home most of the wins, most of the time but just watching them run was something else!
