Sorry if there's already a Drag Week thread but I'm off to work and won't have access to the live stream...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embed...
...two 6.72 runs so far and there's 1,200 miles to go.
No Larry Larson this year, he broke his Nova in testing so at least someone else will win this year (by default).
With Andy Frost and the Red Victor team posting a 6.40 at this weekends Euro Finals the gauntlet has been thrown over the Pond. Well worth keeping on top of.
Enjoy.

Been looking forward to catching some of the love action but never saw when the YouTube stream went live.
Hot topic in the unlimited class being the use of race cars as street cars, as opposed to the traditionalist using street cars as road cars. The class is unlimited for a reason.
Interesting about Larson though, wonder how much of that was from knowing he'd have not much of a chance over the carbon pro mod cars.
Don't know if you saw, but Hot Rod magazine posted up the video of Andy's 6.40 run. It opened a can of worms in the comments with all the yanks saying its not street legal blah blah blah. Apparently for it to be street legal it should be able to do drag week, regardless of the fact it's MOT'd, taxed and has been on the road.
I did reply on that thread with the video of Andy driving it to the shops which seemed to shut a few of them up.
Will be looking out for the stream tomorrow!

I sent Dave Freiburger the video of Red Victor's 6.40 run.

The tin foil hat wearers are suggesting Larry dropped out because he doesn't like the Pro-Mod's. I can understand why. Compared to Red Victor III that started out as a all metal car crafted and grafted into the shape she's in now so molds could be made to make panels; the Pro-Mod's in Drag Week appear to be Pro-Mod kits (tubed chassis with commercially available bodies) made barely road legal.

16 year old with a pro-stock 68 Camaro?
I had an RD50 (and six points on my licence a month later).

Bailey's run...

...once again. Impressive considering the ambient temperature and "there's more to come" sounds familiar to the Red Victor fans.

The joys of driving a race car on the road eh?

If you have to ask you "Why?" should probably take up fly fishing.

I'll post the recap as soon as it's up I missed the live feed as I was called into work. The 6.64 was a 6.94 that was a typo.

Yea, it's possible. We've been doing the same sort of thing, but everyone seemed to tell us it's not. Now however they believe, and it took an american to do it for them to sit up and take notice.... Hats off to Tom and Steve for following our lead and taking up the challenge. It's what i've been waiting for to be honest..

To be honest Andy I was hoping the 6.64 was genuine. It's about time you had some competition (other than small Fiats for Giant Jaffa Cakes).

Yea, i've been pissing about up to now. It's time to show what the car can do with the limited runs we have left before the winter.I love the competition, it's what drove me to do this in the first place..
