i love the way my S2000 looks with the hardtop on but it can be very squeaky sometimes going over bumps etc.

Mugen make a hardtop (pictured in some pics above i think) that looks damn tasty on the S but costs megabucks - £2/3k i think.

An official S2000 coupe would be sweet but i don't think it will happen as it's generally beleived that S will only be in production for another year or two tops

most owners have always hoped honda would make a special edition, possibly an S2000 Type-R, to compete with the new generation of roadsters like the new Boxster S etc that now have a good deal more power than the honda but sadly it doesn't seem as if this will happen.

still a great car as it is though

here's what i hoped the MX5 Coupe would look like:
www.clubmiatamonteregie.ca/MiataCoupe2_2004.gif

And here's what eventually made it into production:
www.mazda.co.jp/customize/roadstercoupe/

not too bad but could have been a bit meaner/lower.

That red Miata coupe looks kinda Porkish and is rather nice. Mazda should consider producing such a coupe . . .

That white thingy is awkward and a bit Celica even . . .

An s2000 would be welcome for rainy Europe I guess.

this is what the final "type A Coupe" looks like.. pretty damn good I think..

admittedly the type E and basic coupe aren't so good.. although the shape is there.. just misses the butch-ness of the type A.

very sad that they'll never be over here....

Mine used to squeak a bit until I put some silicone grease on the rubber seals.

Don't wish to sound out of whack or anything. Anyone else think there is some similarity of line between the type'A' (in above pic),& a Cerbie?
Either way I like it,shame its not being exported here, surely ther'd be a market for such a nice shape.

tuttle... you're lucky most ofthe TVR bunch don't 'lower' themselves to looking in here... you'd be burnt at the stake!!

I do actually kind of agree with you though.. similar lines on a smaller scale..

There are a few cars that are TVR-esque. I happen to think an MX5 is a tad TVR-easque, because of the way the haunches sometimes look, but then again, I like japcars, and thus have no taste!

tried that a couple of times - they greased it up but it didn't make much difference.

tried another stealers and they suggested putting talcum powder on the seals! haven't tried that yet as the hardtop has been off the car since march - probably won't worry about again until later in the year...

Agreed, there's nothing wrong with most Jap styling!
Isn't the MX5 a sort of Lotus Elan copy, structurally aswell?
Also think some of new style Hyundai Coupe lines have been pinched from TVR too.
TVR styling,overall,IS pretty phenomenal,imo.

That'll keep the hairy chested TVR brigade happy

There's something not quite right about that Z8 - looks too short. Is it an MX-5-based replica or something?

TC, you fail me here - hugely I'm afraid . . .

Did you ever see a Z8 in the flesh? Time just stands still when you do . . . It's one of the best roadsters of our time.

BTW, check out the MG/TVR thingy (PH frontpage). I want to know what you think . . .

Done

And yes, I have seen Z8s in the flesh - there's a few around Manchester including one in the window of the BMW showroom. However, I realise that the picture you posted up isn't the actualy production car and they would've made some changes.
