If perhaps some of you were more aware of Honda's recent vehicles, you would have recognized the car.

A BMW 635 Bat mobile is not a Max Power car, neither is an NSX-R GT which is the kit I put on mine.

I have had three Honda NSX, including only one of two NA1 NSX-R in the country; I know how iconic an NSX is.

Here is Honda's version of the NSX-R GT:

http://www.supercars.net/cars/3148.html

Here is the Spoon version of the car:

http://jstyle2.wordpress.com/2008/10/22/spoon-nsx-...

Spoon's car is a regular NSX with the same kit as mine, from the same company. I had to wait over 6 months to get the kit. The car also has an extensive list of modifications, all of which are meant to make it a better street/circuit car; I can assure you that no neons or fluffy dies are not on the list.

I would love to get an NSX-R GT, but the only way to get an NSX-R GT kit is in kit form, as Honda only made five and these were presold to racing teams. I deleted the non functional scoop from mine, and added an autoclaved carbon fibre GT wing made by a company involved in JGTC Racing, not a Halfords product.

The fact that you are ignorant of the car and thought it was an arbitrary Max Power mod, only shows your lack of knowledge of the brand you profess to love so much.

I put a lot of time, effort and funds into building a car with quality hard to find parts, and I find comments such as "what have you done" a bit offensive, especially when they come from people who don't know what they are talking about. I am sure if I would have told them that I reduced weight, drag and increased down force they still would have had a go.

If I was to make comments about some of the posted cars using cast copies of racing rims, cut up suspension springs and eBay induction kits, their owners would get offended. They worked hard to get their cars and I respect the way they have gone with them, I just which you would have afforded me the same respect.

I hope I have not bored you with my response,

Regards,

AR

I certainly wasn't having a go In my reply, and as far as I can tell nobody else was either mate. Your (now deleted) original post was something along the lines of "here's car after X work's been done to it, still has a bit to go though" with a few pictures, no notes detailing what work was done, no engine shot, no interior shot... Hardly making it out of line for someone to inquire as to what modifications you've done to it. I apologise that you asininely took my comment with malintent, it looked great bar being a tad too high (but it's not finished so it's on the to do list?).

Nobody said anything remotely along these lines...?

AR - Personally I prefer my cars to look "factory", and discrete. I fully appreciate the amount of time, money and effort you say has gone into your car, but for me it has lost the purity of the original car. No need to get all upset, it's just my opinion. As I said, each to their own. Incidentally I don't profess to "love" Hondas. They're very good, but if I'm going to confess to loving a car brand it'll be Pagani I'm afraid :-)

Happy new year.

Stop playing up to him...he's got to be smug enough as-is!!! wink

As for the NSX - not my taste at all - the real NSX-R GT was a dog's breakfast IMHO - no subtlety about the design, and the aero, while effective, was OTT. It DOES look like a MaxPower interpretation of the car.

That AR has chosen to go down that route is up to him, although the black 'bonnet' is rather passe now, and silver-with-black never looks as good as white-with-black.

I'll stick with a standard NA2, or if I get really lucky an NA2-R.

Opinions are like bumholes, every one has one.

As for passe, I wont even comment as you have demonstrated that you do not know what is not when it comes to NSX.

BTW you'll have to get really really lucky as in the person that owns the NA2-R selling it to you, or drop over £100 K to get one from Japan in todays market. BTW There is already a long cue of NSX owners to get those cars.

Happy New Year to you too Patrick, I also like Pagani's, and the man behind the brand.

I have?!? When did I do that then, oh master of all that is NSX-y???

If you look back, I never posted up originally...I'm well aware of what NSX models there are and their differences...I just happen to think that the model you are apeing is the least cohesive and successful, design-wise.

Which does bring your taste into question...along with your manners! Now be nice...we're an egalitarian place here, people rubbing their money/cars/attitudes into others' faces doesn't go down very well...

So you have a "pop" at me then I am the one with bad manners...As for rubbing anything that is a non sequitor. All I ask was some respect as I respect anyone elses choice of car. You on the other hand have decided to attack the my car and the NSX-R GT. Why can't you just be happy not liking it and have to keep having a go at it? As for money, I only mentioned that the NA2 NSX-R is beyond most people's reach, even those with the money to buy it as there was only 200 made.
