My Spa and Nurburgring trackday trip report. It`s a long one
Discussion
Great read, thanks! Warts and all, sounded like fun apart from the issues.
I really need to get to Spa and the ring for a couple of trackdays. I've done a few TF days at the ring, but as you point out you can never relax and focus on driving and they're very risky...
This has inspired me to do something about it, once I have a working car that is!

Hi Nigel I was at spa on the second day and spent a lot of time getting out of your way! lumbering around in my nissan stagea which was hilarious. The only modification I made prior to arrival was to put some greenstuff pads in which helped.... not really very much. Standard discs and very old brake fluid meant I could only do 1.5 hot laps at a time. I had some nice fresh michelin ps3 which were ok, especially when it rained and I was the only car on track. Best lap of the day was 3:30, I had never done any track driving at all before.
I went with a group of mates, one of whom was in a white e92 m3 and he was most upset when he got blue flagged to let you through!
The single hardest thing (apart from eau rouge for the first time!) was trying NOT to do what the car in front is doing as most cars there were better on the brakes and corners than my pretend skyline estate

Greenstuff are no good, they are just road pads ! Yellowstuff are a reasonable starting point imo. Not great but I used them for about 6 years without real issue, just a lack of pedal feel.I went with a group of mates, one of whom was in a white e92 m3 and he was most upset when he got blue flagged to let you through!

I do recall seeing your group, it was an ace event wasn`t it !
Thanks Nick

Where's the latest write up? Get scribbling.....
Do you have any idea how long these take to put together I`ll get it done ASAP
I feel sorry for you drivefree day at the ring. But I am on the other hand very impressed about your capabilities trackside.
A lot of people would have packed up and gone home WAY before you ended up trowing the towel in the ring (sorry, no pun intended)
I look forward to the next chapter in your adventures, and until then. I'll have a day at Spa the 3/6 and to days of TF the 4th and 5th.
Though I must admit, every time I read about Ring trackdays. I see more and more reason to not TF.
Thanks for now.

Get your self a set of Endless MX72 all around, and a set of Tarox disksI went with a group of mates, one of whom was in a white e92 m3 and he was most upset when he got blue flagged to let you through!

They are pricey, yes. But the stopping power never ends! (No really, the MX72 has a working tempreture up to 700 degrees)
They bite when cold as well, and they last quite long as well. Wich is nice.
Just don't use them on stty disks.
I met a S2000 owner at a trackday once who had his front disks divided in two...
