When I was last at Thruxton I was told by the noise guy my Corrado was one of the quietest cars he'd tested.

I really should have asked what the actual figure was.

Spring is in the air -- the daffs are doing the business -- the weather should be dry!

Perfect time to nip off work for a day and head to Thruxton.

Mind you the rear of my car is up in the air at the moment -- onw rear CV boot split and it needs a new bearing -- parts due today!

I was there, sharing the driving in my brother's black E36 M3. Had a fantastic day with glorious weather. We've got lots of incar vids, some of which may get posted up later.

yup -- had a useful day in my white 968, with some coaching from Calum which helped me a lot. Weather was superb. Sensible driving, lots of interesting machinery including the special 'Black' Merc- with only 200 miles on the clock, 1st to be delivered in the country I believe.

After lunch I wore one of my front track tyres down to the canvas, so back on with the road tyres and then had to reduce my speed to preserve them! -- had been warned how hard Thruxton is on tyres, now I know first hand.

yup, that was me -- car looks low on the front as I braked/turned for Allard -- no wonder that tyre was knackered!

thx for putting the photo up -- did you get a shot of that special '09 black series Merc? would like to know a bit more about it (V12 & bi-turbo was written on the side!) --anyone know more?

How the hell did that get past the noise regs? confused

It's actually a little annoying. Goldtrack say "strictly road cars only - no TVRs or Caterhams at all" and then you get one of these. And when I was there last, a completely stripped and caged E30 M3 trackmeister and a Porsche GT3 (I think it was)

No disrespect to Melindi or Calum (who are both lovely), and I know it's Thruxton that makes the rules, it just seems a little inconsistent that's all.
