I'll enjoy trying to follow the 911 around - one of my favourites, the old 80's 911's. New set of pants on standby though ? smile

I'll bring a mask for when i cop a gobful of diesel smoke when you burn off from me wink

Never tracked the 911 before. Thinking, (very) slow in and a bit less slow out might be the order of the day. Don't want to bend it. Suspect my mate in the 120 may be quite a bit quicker. Still it's not about how fast you go is it?! wink

Not at all ! I reckon that will be a interested drive on track - you picked the best circuit to test it out anyway - loads of run off !

Not having driven a 911 before i would suspect its liftoff into a corner or mid corner thats gonna end you so you are right - as long as you do all your braking in a straight line, then turn in holding station and hit the loud peddle on the way out you wont go far wrong biggrin

Planning on it, trying to get a few novices from Devon too. Not sure what I'll be driving yet but hopefully something a bit special.

In some of my other posts advertising this event its been mentioned about some MSA regulations coming into effect and effectively rendering anyone with a bike helmet non-compliant and therefore not able to participate in events held by ClubMSV, or any other TDO that are following their regs. Just to clear this up :

Good news from the horses mouth - its all BS as i thought :

Hi Nick,

Got a question for you. There seems to be a lot of talk on the internet forums about MSV having a policy on helmets at the trackdays that they adhere to higher spec racing standards ? Can you confirm this for me ? I cannot find anything on the website that suggests this.

I have a helmet that has the gold stamp on the back and is also marked ECER22-05, which i have used at all my other track days and has been perfectly suitable. Is this not suitable for the MSV events ?

Kind Regards

Steve

This email was from Nick Rice, Track Day organiser at Brands Hatch for Club MSV :

"Your helmet will be fine for track day use. We do not scrutineer every helmet on our track day events, so as long as it is from a reputable company and in a good condition it will be fine. The main points really are that you must use a full face helmet when in an open top vehicle, but you can use an open face one when you are in a saloon car."

Cheers

Steve

May well do this one depending on work schedule and the car's state.

:BUMP:

Just a reminder to anyone that's planning on going to this one.

My plans for cars didn't pan out so I've still got the Sylva driving . Hopefully see a few of you there.

I've been busy prepping the MX5.. had new pads and fluid on last month, did a full service on her sunday and shes in at the moment at wheels in motion getting the front end sorted as its been making a few knocks. So far shes has a new steering arm? and the steering rack adjusted.. maybe some more done by now... Looking forward to chucking the old girl every which way around the track... won't be the fastest by a long way but will be having the most fun - i'm almost praying for rain so i can get her sideways easier biggrin
