Booked my place and wondered if any other PHers fancied coming along. £175 for the day at Bedford Autodrome.

Yep , I'll be there in black Carrera 964RS , hopefully will be a good evening. From memory you only get 3 laps per car in the cars provided by Porsche.....so be prepared to burn your own rubber up

Excellent, see you there. My first trackday so I will be taking it fairly easy. Got a nasty feeling i'm going to get addicted after this though...

I'm still debating Bedford or more of Brands Indy... was at Brands today watching the BTCC/Clios etc and just SO made me want to go back...

If you are new to trackdays, Bedford is a great place to build confidence in a relatively safe enviroment.

Brands Indy is a great little circuit, but it keeps you busy being fairly short if you are going quickly.

Bedford gives you the opportunity to catch your breath but still has some intersting features. Why not do both?

Great stuff! Any more takers?

Has anyone phoned Autocar to see if they know which cars Porsche are bringing along? "Selection of current models" is a bit vague really, don't want to be stuck slinging a Cayenne around the circuit

Bump

Can't wait for this. Did the noise test up there last Saturday and i'm right on the limit. Hoping to have silencers from ACT ready for Friday in case i need them.

See you all there, you should hear me coming

Dear all

I've done 3 of these this year so far(Mitsubishi, Honda and Caterham) and had a great time at them all. Although you only get three hours for £150(the Porsche one is a little dearer) the track is usually very quiet and there's ample room to play and experiment. Regrettably I cannot make Friday because of work and it would also be a bit of a busmans holiday in my GT3. I would be very surprised if Porsche took either a GT3RS or a Carrera GT3 but would guess at a couple of 997 variants, a Boxster S and probably a Cayenne of some sort - but you never know. One tip, if they do take some of their more exotic machinery then turn up early(3 pm'ish) as you book the cars when you first register and somewhat unsurprisingly the good stuff gets booked up first. Depending on numbers you tend to get only one drive and that lasts 3 laps, 2 for you and one by an instructor from the Autodrome.

What a great day! Got blackflagged after about 10 minutes for being a noisy btard so very glad i had the silencers. Huge thanks to Tim at ACT for sorting them out at short notice

Had a few drifting moments but only 1 spin (when i was out with the instructor). They really do encourage you to push your car to it's limits. Was going sideways on full opposite lock for about 2 seconds but just couldn't hold it, and ended up doing a complete 360. Glad they've got those run-off areas everywhere! Wanted him to drive it to show me what it really can do but, after checking with da boss, unfortunately they aren't allowed. Think he was even more disappointed than me

Managed to hit around 140 down the straight before stamping on the anchors and fishtailing into the chicane

Tried out the 997 Carrera S and, although it's clearly a very capable car, it didn't excite me nearly as much as the Cerb. Felt very easy to drive quickly and would be great for blasting across Europe, but not as much fun on the track. Told the chap from Porsche that it needed more power - easily pulled away from it on the straights and kept up with it in the corners (though i'm not sure who was driving it at the time). Needs a smaller, thicker steering wheel too.

Rob and Jon - good to meet you, hope to see you again at another event soon.

Wanted to say hello to the chap with the black Tamora but kept missing you - whenever I was in the pits, you were out on track, and vice versa. Anyone on here?
