My TVR cover just came up for renewal with Privilege and it's now underwritten by UK Insurance which is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

Not only was it cheaper than last year, but when I asked whether track day cover was included (fully expecting them to wriggle out of it), the girl went away to check and confirmed that it is included.

Must be my lucky day

It was the fact that they admitted that track day cover is still included that surprised me.

Don't praise them too soon. They quoted me over £3000 to insure the Superlight R as a second car (they charge me only £1000 for the Cerbera). Shame this was a mere £2700 more than I got through another company.

Out of interest, who was the other company?
