Because they say drift tyres so are designed to be shredded?

The main reason they're cheap is because Maxsports are remoulds.
Might be good for a laugh on somewhere tight and twisty like a kart track but I'd be wary of using them on a circuit.

Description says Track Days but I'm not sure. Would be nice to get some feedback from someone who has used them but doesn't seem to be forthcoming. Think I will have to save a bit harder for some 888R's

If your after a cheaper alternative to r888 see of you can get some federal rsr595's seem to be highly rated and cheap, just getting some fitted to the tvr.

Whether or not they are remoulds has zero impact on their performance - there's a lot of bull out there on t'web regarding remoulds. Dunlop used to do an excellent track tyre called the Supersport Race which was a remould.

Had them on the Cerbera track wheels for a year now, really good tyres that wear extremlly well.

Maxsport make some perfectly decent rally remoulds but the main reason they are cheap remains that they use a second-hand carcass. As i said, id be slightly wary of using these on a fast trackday but owibg to the fact that they are also billed as a drift tyre NOT because they are remoulds.

The max5 race series uses the rsr's & they don't have any serious issues.
Contact roddo on here he sells loads of them he will tell you what is Internet myth or not.

I had another look and cant find any bad reviews of it, I am mostly looking at other lightweight cars though, heavier cars may cause issues I dont know? but then I have heard bad storys about most makes of tyre so I will decide for myself.

Think I'm going for Yoko AD08 or Fed 959R-SR. Both have The size I need and are in my budget. The Maxsport Tyres seem to be for rally/rallycross and not for circuit use as such.

Going by Demon Tweaks prices, the Federal 595 RS-R is about £100 cheaper than the Toyo R888 for my rears - quite a saving - but I think the fairer comparison is with the Federal FZ-201, which is quite a bit more money. The 201 has considerably less tread so would likely be quite hairy for road use in the wet.

if you also check camskill they were about £30 cheaper for the RSR's than DT for me. most reviews I read seemed to compare them to the R888's. all seemed to say the same, if you are after that last tenth, get the R888's, if you want a good track/road tyre with good wear, get the RSR's. I have had mine arrive, just need to finish my wheel refurb then get them fitted!
