Had no idea they did trackdays at Odiham. May be my closest circuit - shame they're charging double what MSE would charge for a similar event though.

Me also! My first car track day so it should be interesting. BTW I'll be the one topping out at 110-120mph down the straight whilst everybody belts past! biggrin

Yes mate. We live not too far away either (other direction to you I think) so we'll be driving it there along with the "supporting" car that will have the toolkit, etc.. in!

It is an abrasive circuit and will wear your tyres more quickly but then that means there is more grip so you can give it more beans! If you don't like the wear on your tyres, don't drive so hard. It is an ACTIVE airfield so the surface is in very good condition. The stone chipping in the summer (July)has now been cured by sweeping the runway at lunchtime. The last day in Sep was very good and (in conjunction with the organisers) I am unaware of any stone damage on that day. All said, if a stone chip worries you, you are better off not driving (anywhere).

Odiham drivers generally report it as a very good day - open pit lane, overtaking on both sides and plenty of space (running 3 cars side by side down the main drag at over 140mph still with plenty of room). You should be able to max out your car (depending on type obviously) and whilst I didn't top mine out, I did have 162 indicated!

Second your comments about the weather Lee! I'll be taking my biking winter weather gear I think as this should keep be nice and dry! biggrin

Does anybody know how strict they are on the noise limits? We've tested our car ourselves and it was 104db but it's dangerously close to the limit and I really don't fancy failing.

The noise limits are there, but mine is loud and not failed (if you know what I mean!).......remember CH47s (Chinooks) operate from there, so a car is quiet in comparison!

See you all tomorrow and come over to say hello, I'll be in this (If not me, my Bro-in-law will be!) but I will be around!

Phil, YHM.

Lee, I'll keep an eye out for you then. I'll be in a Q reg'd black Locoblade and if I'm not driving it then my wife will be! She's got the St George's cross Arai helmet which should stand out quite easily.

Brother in Law hitting the tyre wall and damaging the front panel, so now looks like this!

Could have been worse; you could of had oily water chucking out over the nearside wheel wavey

Oh and thanks for the cable ties bow
