AlphaSights Ltd / strange request.

Have taken part in a fair few calls facilitated by Alphasites, no hassle at all just dial in at the allotted time and waffle on for a hour about a specific topic (usually have a call with the rep for about 5/10mins before to confirm topic / details etc and complete a 2 min form online also before call)

Much the same as GLC, Third Bridge, Mosaic, ProSapient.

Usually get between $300 and $400 for each call paid direct into my bank, I add to my annual tax return.

Have to complete an annual training / compliance thing for each company but apart from that all very straight forward and nice flow of extra cash.

When I worked for a US company we all got asked to do these regularly but our employer explicity told us not to - I think as part of the SOX compliance stuff.

I know one of my former colleagues (he's left too) does them - but he has the gift of the gab and can effortlessly talk about anything, IIRC the ones he does are intially 30 mins and then he gets paid more if they go past that.

I got same call and earned 500$ from AlphaSights for 1 hour of call. I just want to know do AlphaSights send 1099 misc form or its upto us to submit tax return. I did not provide SSN to them so how they gonna send me tax form.
