Scenario:

I work as an employee in a junior management role for a company that isn't booming, but is surviving in tough times.

I have been put in a group with other managers and we have basically been given the role of 'Strategy Team' and we have been tasked to come up with ways to improve business, with regular meetings for us to discuss ways to improve all areas of the company.

They mention wanting to be a little tighter with the finances and keep looking at ways to cut back without upsetting staff or customers. Now here is the bit that makes me laugh...

5 DIRECTORS ALL DRIVE COMPANY CARS AND EARN THE HIGHEST WAGES!!!

If they are serious about cutting back, surely the luxury of a company car is forfeited and they use their impressive wages to run a car! I manage on my st wage, so should they as far as I am concerned.

How would you bring this up as I think it is ridiculous that they put us together, reject pay rises etc... task us to help them and won't even help the company themselves....

Mini, crap rant over smile

They are not extravagant in the slightest... rather dull and boring executive saloons really. That isn't my point though.

If they are looking at the company and thinking 'We need to reduce our outgoings a little and get control of what we are spending' then surely they should say 'Company cars are luxuries we can't afford, get rid and use the £XXXX a month towards a new member of staff'...
