If you rear it properly, you will see it says quicker than most, not more fun that most.

Driven a E36 M3 Evo, E46 M3 and Z3MC. And been driven in an old E28 M5 and and E34 M3.
No, you specifically said "more fun":

Many straws being clutched at here.
Sub M brand brings car that's faster and more fun to drive than probably most "proper" M cars M brand owners get all pompous and huffy and fling insults at the new boy.
M owners confuse the sub brand with the woefully poor M Sport tat branding in a lame attempt at point scoring.
Sub M brand owners simply enjoy one of BMWs most fun cars in years while also not paying much for the privilege. M owners get even more huffy and storm off in a huff.

The World continues turning....

first ever post...forums are great places for debate, ultimately though the only opinion that ever truly matters to anyone when it comes to their own cars is......their own. M-Performance sub-forum a good idea

Since when the m135 is an M car ?

It doesnt even have a BMW M Gmbh label and VIN number !

Grow up folks. If you want to know THE m car, it starts with M3 and finishes with CSL.

I used to quite like the M3 CSL but sadly it appears that you have to be a complete t**t to own one. Kind of ruins the appeal. The negative BMW image turned up to 11.

Of course you do, cos your M is apparently 80% M, so 50% more M than Vlads 30% M, so your M is bigger than his M, and in fact his M shouldn't be allowed in this M forum cos it's not 100% M, designed, conceived and developed by M in Garsching….Oh wait, your M is only 80% M, not 100% M, as it's developed from a non M 3 series, so it's only 80% M so shouldn't be in this M forum either. or is it less than 80% M cos it started as an 80% M before having M bits removed to make it a lightweight 80% M….so maybe that makes it a 79% M, so it's actually closer to an M135i than most other non M 80% only M cars which shouldn't be in this M forum either cos they're also not 100% M, designed, conceived and developed by M in Garsching.

Catch my drift.

There's certainly plenty of that on display in this thread and the M forum in general.

If it's not people getting in a huff about the M135i, it's M badges or "someone in a 530 had the nerve to overtake me in my M5 on a dual carriageway, so I showed him who's boss" etc etc.

Get a life!!

Pretty much the same as what it stands for in M-Sport: "Meh" wink

No frothing here, I actually quite like the sounds of the M135i, BMW hot hatches are ace

It's more that you confuse me a bit with your broad sweeping statements that never seem to have any substance behind them, then generally resort to personal insults as a follow-up. I didn't ever agree with you on your opinion of the 335d, so it's only logical that I would question your findings on this new car

This is nothing about being hardcore, more trying to part fact from fiction. There is no insinuation from me that the car is a bad one, and in fact I'd probably love it as a daily myself. The simple question asked was whether the M135i was actually an "M-Power" car, and you still don't seem to be able to acknowledge that it isn't

This whole type of thread boils my blood….nothing but a load of pompous, pretentious, macho posturing, my M is more M than you're M so it shouldn't be allowed in this section crap!!
Grow up FFS.
And no, I don't have an M135i….I have an E92 M3.
RANT OVER…..for now anyway.
erm...not convinced the E92 M3 is an M car. Should be in the general section.
It's more of a GT cruiser really as too porky with it's tonne of obsolete gadgets, has the torque of a sewing machine and comes as standard with serious security vulnerabilities.

I think the 320d M Sport is more true to the M ethos. It looks like one (sporty trim and M badges) sounds like one (just mention 'M Sport' at the golf club bar) has more in gear urge and has better economy so you don't feel guilty hooning it around.

These type of threads never tend to end well...

I don't think no one on this forum is in a position to say what is and what is not an M car... that right has to go to BMW themselves as they own the "M" brand!

True we all have opnions but that's all they are... opinions and we will never get everyone to agree...

This is what I have found on a BMW website

BMW said:
BMW Performance Automobiles benefit from the unique expertise of BMW M engineers, with a special, fine-tuned powertrain, suspension and steering system. This results in vehicles that offer an exhilarating combination of sheer dynamism, comfort and everyday usability. The extra-sporty character of BMW M Performance Automobiles is further emphasised by a number of striking exterior and interior details.

M genes included: BMW M Performance Automobiles are extra-sporty vehicles with a superior combination of dynamic ability and fuel efficiency. The BMW M550d xDrive Sedan, the BMW M550d xDrive Touring, the BMW X5 M50d and the BMW X6 M50d are powered by the newly developed BMW M Performance TwinPower Turbo drive system, hitting the road with 280 kW (381 hp) and a maximum torque of 740 Nm. The BMW M Performance TwinPower Turbo petrol engine in the BMW M135i 3-door and M135i 5-door is impressively efficient: the straight six-cylinder engine produces 235 kW (320 hp) with a maximum torque of 450 Nm – with surprisingly low consumption and emission values. With an average consumption of 7.5 l/100 km and 175 g/km of CO2 emissions, the BMW M135i with 8-speed automatic transmission is the most economical engine compared to the competition. The irresistible dynamics of BMW M Performance Automobiles is further emphasised by a variety of striking details on the outside and inside alike. In short, these vehicles offer an exhilarating combination of sheer dynamism, comfort and everyday usability.
Is it an M car? BMW M Performance cars have "M" genes included.... lets just leave it at that....

Should cars which have "M" genes included be included as part of this sub-forum... perhaps only the moderators of the forum have the rights to say yes or no... and seeing that no threads relating to M135i have been moved from the "M Power" section I assume the anser is "Yes" M135i is an allowed topic in this section smile

Let's all kiss and make up and rejoice we have cars with "M" genes included

If non M cars were in the general section, we wouldn't have such issues.
