How the devil are you Rich? Family well?

It was more it lacked that M car drama. You have a crap week at work and come the weekend you want to blow the cobwebs out at >8000rpm.

I finally took one of these out earlier - awesome car!

I was offered a £3k discount on a 3dr manual with ~£1200 of options - £500 deposit £450 a month

This was without too much asking and when I walked out they offered to take about another £1k off.

I seen people mention monthly rates like 380-400 are these still available and what deposits are people putting down to get these?

Not sure if dealers are still doing anywhere near the Q3 deals but my monthly is £367 on a 3dr auto with 6k of options and 4k deposit

Indeed mate, all hunky dory... My impressions were generally positive of it but despite its 'bargain' headline figure, its still virtually double what you can by a Fiesta/Focus ST for new, and comparable to some incredibly serious secondhand metal.. in my circumstances I just couldn't justify it to myself!

Yes deals are still available. I just done a deal around three weeks ago for a 3dr auto with a couple options £500 deposit £399 a month so basically got around 6k off.
The original offer was 4k dealer contribution on 3dr manual no options £389 deposit, £389 a month 48 months. Managed to get another 2k worth of options for a extra £10 a month.

I posted this question in the "90% of Mercedes buyers choose PCP" thread.

It seems like people are managing to get a discount of 15%-18% from dealers. Is this a discount that you would only be able to get through a PCP deal?

What discounts, if any, are available to cash buyers?

I do think there's sometimes a certain amount of smoke and mirrors when people quote the levels of discount they've secured. BMW (and I believe Mercedes as well) quite often offer dealer contributions to the deposit when you take one of their finance deals and in some cases that can be quite significant (for example the dealer contribution on an F31 335i bought via BMW Select is currently the equivalent of around 13% of the list price of a basic car). Assuming that contribution is funded by BMW rather than the dealer I daresay you could negotiate a further discount out of the dealer margin and hence in this example I can see that 18% in total (including the deposit contribution) is very achievable. However, would you get an 18% discount if you were buying for cash? I suspect it could be a struggle on a factory order car but in truth I don't know; perhaps someone with more information could enlighten us?!

I got £5830 off a list £34600 factory order car last week for cash. That level of discount was being offered on the pcp deal too.

I believe you can settle the outstanding balance at anytime with no penalty if you prefer to go the pcp route.

There will be a penalty of sorts (outside of the cooling off period), but in fairness it's pretty standard across the industry - 2 months interest IIRC. You would also lose your initial fee, and they'll no doubt be a completion fee of sorts (there always is). None of which is horrendous, but i doubt it's technically without any penalty.

Who is the best dealer to visit in the South to get a good deal? Starting to make first enquiries into purchasing an M135i. Test drove one recently based on Chris Harris review and now I'm hooked! That man has a lot to answer for wink

I'm seriously tempted to chop my E90 M3 in for one of these, as I need to lower my monthly outgoings considerably

I'm going to pop by the dealer on Sunday and see what sort of figures we are looking at, but £450 a month is easily manageable

Test drive booked for Sunday, albeit in a manual car, interesting to see if it lives up to the hype

The steering is a bit hyper due to the vario rack thingy, but you will definitely be impressed by the way it gathers itself up under WOT in sport+

It feels a lot quicker than my old e46 M3 partly due to the fat torque and partly the noise coming out of the speakers (not a problem for me) and engine.

I went for auto over manual because I spend a certain amount of time shuffling round the M25...

I don't want a manual, but the dealer only has a manual demo car, I'm not really wanting to do this bit my hand is being forced unfortunately

Hopefully it drives better than it looks

Personally I wouldn't see an M135i as anything other than a backwards step from an E90 M3 but everyone has their motives and reasons when it comes to changing cars so good luck with it!
