I have a long wait for mine, but I'm pretty much set on the spec apart from the stereo. I'm not too bothered about the speaker setup, I'm buying the car to drive and it will be a second card, so won't be racking up the miles.

Question is, do I need to spec the HK upgrade to preserve future value, or will it not make any difference if I have the standard or advanced stereo? I don't want to spend £600 for the sake of it when I could either spend it on other options or not spend it at all.

Thoughts?
Don't know enough about the newer F** cars standard audio to comment definitively, but I would at least go for the Advanced audio, but that's still 300 quid, and given the superb HK system is only another 300 more, I'd say it's worth it to go the HK.

I've got the HK system in my E82 135i and it was worth every penny to tick the box, as the standard audio in the E82 135i was horridly bad, and the few hundred quid extra for the HK over the Advanced seemed to be a no-brainer as a percentage of extra cost on the order.

Thanks for that. If it's good then I don't mind spending the money. I had read elsewhere that the HK system wasn't that great in most models and was more about badge snobbery. A number of people had also mentioned that the advanced system was the sweet spot, but I haven't had an M car before so didn't know if that box needed ticking regardless

I know it's not sat nav, but for the sake of 300 to 600 quid I'd definitely do HK. The lack of sat nav seems to have impacted values of 1Ms even though there are limited numbers available.

Maybe the lack of HK will have some impact when selling. Eg, I'd rather have a car with HK than no HK when buying. That initself would make it harder to sell.

M2 ordered today, delivery first quarter 2017.

Manual
Long Beach Blue
Sun protection package
HK hi-fi
Seat heating front
Comfort access

Still have worries about the car being more M4 than 1M, but demo drive in April will help me make the final decision....

Did you have to shop around for a Q1 car or are they readily available?

Went straight to my local dealer (not a small dealership) and they only had 4 orders! So doesn't seem that hard to get one...

Looking forward to seeing one in Geneva in just over a week.

When I specced up my M235i I got the dealer to quote me with and without on a 4 year PCP. Difference was £4 pcm; obviously worth something at the end.

Don't think any discounts are available.

Service pack is £800.

Really?! That sounds tempting. Price was unknown at the time I ordered. Question is will it be worth it on a car averaging 3k miles pa.

Anyone know what the service schedule is?

No discount here either. However, I think it is a bargain!

I have the order form which shows it's £800. Very sensible option.

Oh yes, it's worth it, even at that mileage per year. Service isn't fixed schedule as in years gone by.

I asked this today, yes it does and unlike the older M cars you have to pay for it, was told it would be approx. £450. Makes the service package seem even better value.

Definitely worth getting the service pack then! I bought it for my M4 for £1k
