Genuine question - do you still get excited about the likes of an M2 given the kind of cars you usually buy?
Yes, massively. My daily driver is currently an M235 and it's so much fun, I haven't driven one of the 'big' cars for nearly two weeks now. At this time of year you can have much more fun in a car like that than a super or hyper car, and my other cars all start to feel a bit 'the same' whereas the M2 is going to be totally different. There is an interview with Eddie Jordan in the latest Top Gear magazine, out of all of the cars he has had he said his M235i daily drive is by far the best car he has had because it is so much fun which exactly backs up your statement - praise indeed. Just think how great the M2 is going to be! (long wait for mine

On a different note, does anyone know when prices for the performance parts are out? I really fancy the Alcantara steering wheel, price permitting.
Theres a lot of info RE competition parts on some other BMW forums I believe, but I don't have a price for the wheel either (I want this).
For my money the carbon appendages don;t add much, its just the steering wheel and the coilovers that I fancied. I hear that the coilovers are a fairly inexpensive KW set so I might go aftermarket on that if for some reason I don't like the stock suspension.

This fills me with so much hope. I ended up going for an M2 over a cayman GTS and have been worrying that it wouldn't be nearly as much fun, while admittedly ticking some more practicality boxes...

Same here. Would love the GTS but the wife wants kids (soon) and feared we'd never actually go anywhere in it because we'd always need more seats.I ended up going for an M2 over a cayman GTS and have been worrying that it wouldn't be nearly as much fun, while admittedly ticking some more practicality boxes...
